Our fridge is not very cold. We have it on the number 5 setting. Is 6 the maximum for coolness or is 1? We have milk that needs to stay cold... and we are going to bed very soon.... :confused3

6 is the coldest... It froze our drinks that were in there at that setting:)

Yeah as mentioned before 6 is the coldest. I would notify front desk ASAP and let them know.

I also wanted to mention buses since it seems to be a hot topic here. Yesterday we did Downtown Disney and the Boardwalk (we took a bus to HS and then a boat from there). We used the East Depot behind Magnolia Terrace. We were, I'm guessing, the first stop each time for the resort and had no more than a 5-10 min. wait for each bus. Granted, we weren't going at busy times, but still, that made me pretty happy. Now let's hope this post doesn't jinx me for the rest of the trip....... I'll keep you updated! :-)

The DTD bus stopped at each depot AND French Quarter after picking us up. The HS bus did not. We had the entire bus to ourselves!

Also, I felt the bus stop at DTD was fine. It really was not too crowded, nor is it under construction. I was expecting MUCH worse after reading the DisBoards all summer! Some of you might wonder why we chose bus transport to DTD over the boat ride... Well, that line was pretty long - probably two boats long.

What are the beds like? I had back surgery in April so need supportive beds. I'm hoping they aren't too soft? Can anyone give me an idea? Thanks!

I have a horrible back and prefer soft. We thought AB beds were very firm!!

I'm curious about busing to TL. Earlier in the summer I had read that there was not buses back to the resorts from TL. Does anyone have any current info on the situation with this? I arrive in 8 days and will be going to TL once maybe twice on this trip. TIA for any help. :goodvibes

we have a flight that gets in at 9:30am, taking ME to POR, planning on checking in, changing and then going to MK. What time can we reasonably expect to be at MK? can I make an ADR for lunch? if so what time? i was thinking of doing a BOG FP if i am lucky enough to get it but don't know what time to schedule it for. thoughts? or should we eat lunch at POR food court and then go? thoughts? TIA!

I am not an expert, but I asked the same question a few weeks back and was told the general rule of thumb is 3 hours from wheels down at MCO to park entry, with hotel check in in the middle. I don't know how accurate that is, so I'll be anxious to see what responses you get. :)

It appears that after 2:00 TL buses only go to Epcot, where you will then need to take another bus to your resort.

We are going in September but are thinking we might get out of TL before 2:00 to avoid the extra trip.

I have a question checking in, in 25 days my mother is coming with is and will be using an ev scooter do I need to request a 1st level room to make it easier on her with the scooter. Can't wait doesn't last night putting finishing touches on window decorations

I just booked a royal guest room. I have no experience with this resort.....never considered staying here on our multiple trips but this room was available with a discount and I have 3 daughters. 2 are VERY princess ish daughters. I hope this is a great thing....it sounds quite cool. It's better pricing than standard room without discount so I'm not sure how it came open. Very limited availability on my dates.
Can someone comment on this room? Are they in a preferred location or what location requests should I make? I'm hoping close to main building. I'm a little apprehensive but excited and willing to try ::yes::

Looking for info from someone familiar with this resort and Coronado Springs Resort.
I am wondering how the sizing compares here with CSR. Our last visit we were in Ranchos at CSR and the walk from lobby to our room was quite far. We were at the furthest point, or 1 building away from it, I believe. In comparison, is POR more spread out, just as spread out, or a little closer for the walk?

Worried about Mum mostly, as is she. She feels that the parks will be long enough but at least she sits at the attractions, and can stop and sit when necessary. Whearas the need and desire to walk from room to breakfast, is not as simple. Or if she wants to go and get her mug filled, or or or...Any comments on the distance?

Thank you.

(ps we have reserved a Garden view room at POR and I have requested Mansions, thinking that maybe that may be her best option for less walking, maybe?? Preferred was not available during our stay. (or at least not at the room discount)

Go to www.portorlleans.org. This website gives you a lot of information about the resort & the royal rooms which are across the river in the Mansion section. I believe they are located in two specific buildings. Ive never stayed in one, but heard lots of good about them. We prefer to stay in a preferred room in the Alligator Bayou section right next to the food court, etc. Enjoy your vacation. POR is an amazing resort with lots to do right there.

Wow I missed a lot lately. Been working a Guest issue that has me tied up at the moment. Catching up on the dates thread as well.

I've stayed at both CSR and POR. I liked POR much better. Both are large resorts but POR didn't have the feeling of a large resort due to the layout. Preferred would definitely be the closest. Rather than request the mansions, I would call in a request for as close to the food court as possible due to your mother's mobility issues. The walk from some rooms in the mansions isn't bad but you'll find that some garden rooms in AB are closer. You can also fax the resort about 5 days in advance indicating that you were unable to book a preferred room due to the discount not being available, again mentioning your mother's mobility issues. There is information about faxing on the first page and in Venomhatch's signature as well as on portorleans.org.

We're going to be at POR at the end of September for my DD's 5th birthday trip! :) Can't wait to arrive!!

Our plans are very similar. Arriving 9/27 on DD's 11th birthday. The kids have no idea and I am having a hard time containing my excitement. Hope you all have a terrific trip
