Anyone done the pirates cruise at POR? I signed the girls up but not sure if it is worth it or not?

If you have someone in an ECV, what's the "best" section to ask for?
We're going 9/1 - 9/6 staying at PO Riverside

There is a thread going on currently about it. Consensus is the kids love it. My son is super excited to go; it was a deciding factor in us picking POFQ.

I agree, for rooms that are meant to sleep up to five people the storage is woefully inadequate. I'm sure there must have been other options. Andre

Colour us weird....but we must be the only family who is content to live out of a suitcase for the entire vacation! LOL

Even at our 4 day stay at Poly (and 5 days following at my Moms condo in DelRay) we kept all our things in our suitcases.

I'm too worried we will forget something!

I live out of my suitcase, too. I feel like it makes packing quicker at the end of the trip.

We leave our clean clothes in our suitcases and put our dirty clothes in a plastic bag in the dresser drawers. Then at the end of the trip I put all our dirty things in one suitcase and leftover clean stuff in the other. Makes it easy when we get home.

With 5 of us and the kids all teenagers now, we each have our own suitcases. I was planning on having DS at least have a bag in his suitcase for his dirty stuff. The girls are on their own, they do their own laundry!

OMG I'm so excited! 14 days from right about this time, we should be pulling in to our first hotel for the drive down....somewhere south of Atlanta! SO can't wait to get to POR!

Yeah we leave everything in ours also. And we have a separate laundry bag that hangs off the ground on the clothing rail in the sink area. So we can keep most of our stuff off the ground ever since the one bad past visit we had. We became kinda careful after that.

Uh-oh. What happened? Please share!
I usually use a large garbage bag on the floor in the closet area for dirty laundry.

Yes, please share.

I have just been reading about the bus service on the unoffical Port Orleans website. If we get our requests we will be about in between the South Depot and the West Depot. I was wondering should we go to the one that is picked up first to avoid having to stand ? Like for Animal Kingdom it reads the South Depot is picked up first and for Magic Kingdom the West Depot is picked up first . Of course I know French Quarters are first but between the two Depots that we are near should we go to the one that is picked up first to avoid standing ? Has anyone had to stand on the bus or are they usually crowded ? We will be there the week after memorial day so I know will at least have 7 or 8 crowd levels in the parks.

My fiancé and I are going to have an engagement photo session at POR and this is our first time there. I chose POR because it seems like the most beautiful resort grounds I've seen, just judging from the pictures online. My questions is if anyone has done a photo session there and if they have any tips/advice? And does anyone have any suggestions for spots around POR that we should definitely try to get pictures at? Also, any chance there are any weeping willows or trees that look similar? I know we'd love a picture under one. Thanks.

Wonder if you can get picture in the carriage that they use for the evening carriage rides. We haven't stayed in the mansions area but I bet that's perfect too around the fountains. Have fun.... It's a great resort.

We're staying in the mansions area. We booked a royal room with a river view.

Please tell me about online check-in. What are the pros and cons? This is our very first visit. We'd like to be in MB on an upper floor, but I'd rather not fax. We check in this Saturday, 5/3. Paid for standard view. Any info is appreciated. I did read the first 5 and last 5 pages of this thread, but didn't see this anywhere. Sorry if it's repetitive! Thanks!

We did online check in last month. We also sent a fax request. We arrived, and found that the OL check-in line had 3 or 4 people while the regular check-in line had 10-15 people. We ended up getting EVERY SINGLE REQUEST we made via our fax. I say it is worth it to fax Venoms form. I hear you need to fax 1st, than do online check-in later. (did I see that on Andre's site?)

It was said here but yes I did say to do it that way. Glad to hear I could help you in some extra magic!
