The Royal Rooms look amazing! I just wish it wasn't more to rent the DVC points for this resort...
Just booked RR/SV for September and so excited! We have a four year old little girl whose main ambition in life is to do BBB...we are going to surprise her with RR...she knows about her BBB appointment. To say we are excited just doesn't even start to convey how we really feel.
So...I have read and read posts about RRs. My TA said we would be fine with SV, said there really wasn't a bad view to be had. From what I have read, it sounds to me if you get upgrade, it's mainly for location? So, staying in SV are we going to have a long walk to food court and parking lot? We will be driving down, so we will not use buses.
Really love this thread...it sends my excitement level through the roof!!!![]()
Correct, the rooms which overlook the river in buildings 14 and 27 are sold as River View category, not Preferred Location. To be honest, all of the river view rooms are nicely located (even the ones within the mansion buildings) as they all face onto the inner circle path around the island.

We were going to be "stuck" in CS for the free dining and then they mailed a pin code for free dining at POR a week after we booked. So thankful for that!!
Dec 15 POR here we come. ADR's made this morning.
Same thing happened to us! We had two rooms booked at POP (my sister's family is travelling with us) and then my husband got the FD pin email, and we were able to book two rooms w/ FD at POR for our late Sept./early Oct. trip! POR was our first choice, but we went with POP when the general offer excluded POR. You can't imagine how excited we were!![]()
disdream said:Has anyone heard any comments on how the 2 week test of bypassing resort check-in and reporting straight to your room is going? Has that started yet? I wasn't sure. We are not arriving until January so I imagine a decision on that process will be made by then. Just wondered how it was going.
Everyone enjoy your trips. Can't wait until it's my turn.![]()
I have read a few reports and they were all positive.
This is kind of a bizarre question... I will be at POR in 3 days (i can barely wait) and i read somewhere that we should bring a 3 prong adapter for the room in order to use a power strip? Does anyone know what the wall outlets are like? Thank you so much!![]()
I usually bring one 2 to 3 prong adapter, surge protector, and a three way splitter. you should check out my must bring items for ideas of last minute things to try and bring.

Aren't all of the wall outlets at Disney three-prong sockets, which I thought could accept either 2- or 3-prong plugs?
As an outsider, I've never really liked the small US 2-prong plugs much, they always seem very unsafe and fall out far too easily. I like my good solid British 13-amp plugs!

Does anyone know if the alligator bayou rooms that sleep 5 also have connecting rooms? We are traveling with another family of 5 and would love to have connecting rooms....
