We only made it 3 days into our RGR and had problems with room so changed resort. But they have made so many improvements it is definitely worth it at least one stay to do.

What problems did you have with your room? And when was this? I stayed in the RR this past Jan 2014 and again in March 2014 and had no problems but perhaps the problems were fixed by then. I'm just wondering what they were.

Yeah it was fixed by then. We were on vacation in late March 2013.

Question for everyone.. During our stay next December, well be there during my husbands 30th birthday. We are planning to spend the day at animal kingdom, then leave our (will be) 9.5 year old, and possibly our new baby (were hoping to get pregnant in the next month or two, leaving the baby around 3-6 months old depending on when it happens. If not were going to wait until after the trip. Anyhow, we would leave our son at one of the kids clubs, but obviously the baby will be too young to do so. We want to do that kids night out in room sitter thing and possibly do a dinner at downtown disney after coming back from animal kingdom. I was just wondering if anyone knew how long we should plan for, I know it's either 2 or 4 hours minimum for the service. Do you think 4 hours is long enough to bus/boat from the resort to DTD, have a nice meal and maybe a drink or two, then get back to the resort. Any recommendations outside of DTD? We want to stay out of the parks tho for our time together.
Thanx!

Not sure is anyone would know but figure it's worth a shot....

We have an Dining reservation at Fultons. We also have a carriage ride booked at POR that same night.

I am wondering if we would be allowed to take the boat from DTD to POR and back to do the carriage ride? (We would be parking the car at DTD).

I was just thinking they might have gotten (understandably) more strict about only POR, POFQ, OKW and SSR resort guests using the boat transportation due to the parking fiasco at DTD?

Thanks!

They have been stopping non-POR guests from parking at POR and taking the boat to DTD. But they are not doing that for the trip from DTD to POR.

Makes sense. Do you think we'd have any trouble boarding the boat at POR to get back to DTD?

No issues at all. Anybody can use any of the WDW transportation whether you're staying on site or not. The issue I mentioned above were with people not staying at POR parking at POR for the sole purpose of not having to park at DTD.

If anyone has been waiting for the 2015 WDW Rack Rates to be released, they just come online at Disneyworld.com a few minutes ago.

Doesn't seem much has changed! At least preferred category. Any chance you know how many preferred rooms there are?

I thinks it's roughly 200-210 not including the rooms in the preferred bldgs. that are actually waterviews, poolviews, etc.,
I could be wrong, however, as no expert. Looked at Andre's building floor plans and did quick math.

Hey Andre, I thought it didn't release until the 31st of this month.

Thanks! My iPhone won't select things on his site, I'll need to fire up the ole dinosaur to take a look!

I have been waiting for the rack rates. I'm really debating with myself on which type of room view to get. We are booking a Royal Room but do I want a River View or a Pool View? Which would get me closest to the foot bridge and the main building? Do any of you POR veterans have any suggestions? This will be my first stay at POR. Currently we have a Room Only River View booked but maybe I can change that when we re-book as a package. ::MinnieMo

I see 217.99 a night for the room preferred.

My bad, I mean how many rooms are there. Lol, about 200? I'm wanting to wait til oct to book to ensure a discount but not at the risk of not getting a preferred for Jan.

You might as well book now, then call back & apply the discount in October once they're released. That's what I would do, especially since you're well within the 180 day window to book ADRs and such.
