I have a question about driving on-site. Going to the MK can you take a right turn out of POR onto Bonnet Creek then go up and take Vista Blvd. over to World Drive? That puts you past the toll plaza. Will they let you do that or will they force you to go through the toll plaza?

I know that most people recommend the buses for MK, but that is where I have had the most horrible experiences having to wait for 3-4 buses then standing on party nights, so I thought I would try driving this time. :)

Thanks!

Not only does that put you beyond the toll plaza it also puts you beyond the entrance to the MK parking lot. You would have to go up to seven seas drive, pass the Poly, then make a left turn heading toward the Car Care Center then u-turn back into the parking lot. Don't know if it would save time at all. If you were going to one of the MK resorts it would save time but not the parking lot.

Just got my disney package..woohoo:dance3:. We got a marina discount coupon does anyone know how much it costs to rent the pontoon boat? Thanks in advance :)

The costs are on andre's website, they are based on 30 and 60 minutes.

Andre do you have any news on the general progress of fridge refurbishment at POR? We arrive on Friday, preferred room. Hope you're having a nice trip by the way :)

Haven't managed to see your live steam yet but I keep looking!

Nothing specific on fridges other than that it is "progressing". Put in a request and they'll try to help if they can. I'll ask next week to see if there's anything firmer that can be passed on anyway.

The video stream has been running all day by the way, just click on it on the frontpage of www.portorleans.org.

Anyone know the chances of us getting an Alligator Bayou room? Originally we had a party of 4 adults and 1 child so we were guaranteed that section. My daughter fell in love with the pictures of the murphy bed in the room and has her heart set on sleeping there. My sister had to cancel and can no longer go so now we only have 3 adults and 1 child. Should I fax them a week or so before our trip and mention all this to them just in case there was a chance we weren't going to get a room in Alligator Bayou?

Any runners out there who love POR-riverside? Going for first time in October and wondering what the running path is like. Thanks!

As an update to this, yesterday I noticed that all of the pools at Port Orleans Riverside (even the quiet pools) now have boxes containing lots of kids' life-vests that you can just pick up and use. No more having to go to the marina to get one.

Andre

Ooh love this info, so much more convenient!!

Hi. I am here now and we have seen a lot of runners on the walkways. It seems it would be a pretty nice smooth run. The outer walkways are nice and wide and would accommodate you running just fine. And the scenery is wonderful here.

I'm wondering this too.

Andre will probably know more but when we came back from the parks this afternoon there was a random fridge sitting outside a room. It seemed like the guest just moved it out of their room for some reason but there was the note on it not to use it plus we still have the non working one in our room so they haven't been replaced yet it seems.
Hth

Lol I just noticed Andre gave an update. Sorry about that.

Just wanted to let everyone here know that if you are still hoping for FD, play around with your dates a little. From the very beginning, I was not getting any availability for our week, 10/26-11/2 and starting to give up hope. But after trying many scenarios and creative "splitting", I realized that maybe the Saturdays involved in my stay were messing things up because those are usually very busy days. So, I took out our arrival Saturday and our departure Saturday, an lo and behold! FD!! Not ideal, but 5 nights FD is better than nothing! I will just need to add on a RO reservation for our first and last nights. And if anyone is looking for those dates, 10/27-11/1 is still showing availability!

Even just random chance should be about 3:2 in your favour, but put a request in and send a fax a few days before you arrive explaining why you want the AB room, and hopefully you'll get what you want.

Hi. I am here now and we have seen a lot of runners on the walkways.

There are often a few runners around at 6am-7am, before it starts to get too hot. I love the resort at that time of the morning, and if I were a runner (no chance of that!) then I'm sure I'd enjoy running the route round the riverbank pathways. You'll probably see some runners on my webcam if you take a look in the early mornings over the next week or so.
