May be switching over to POR from POFQ. Which bus stop is first to be picked up and would booking a preferred room put me close to that stop?

This can be an arguable issue. But take it from a CM there is a bus that hits POFQ then POR South Depot, aka the one I recommend, Usually you have a very good chance to get on buses there. The other stops you have four stops total it has to hit before going on to the park of choice.

In a nutshell I recommend head to South Depot every time.

Thanks for the info! It will actually cost the same to stay 9 nights at POR as it would to do 6 nights at WL and 3 at the Swan/Dolphin. So I am not sure which would be better. I love WL and have never stayed at POR or Dolphin.

I have never stayed at WL, but it sounds lovely. Switching to the Dolphin after might be a nice option, especially if you don't want to do 9 days of DDP. Then you have some time near MK and some near Epcot. I've never done a split stay though either.

I didn't like Swan and Dolphin because I don't get the feel that it is like all the other resorts with the Disney Feel to the hotel. I was also told when it comes to kids it is the second least interesting to kids. Not my Quote on the last part, I remember reading that somewhere.

Is the Swan/Dolphin included in the Free Dining?? $400-500 for food for 3-4 days could easily hit this mark..otherwise I would do whatever is cheapest...For me, if savings are over the $400-500 mark (under $200 is a wash) it's the choice for me! :) That savings can be put towards tips/souvenirs so I won't be out that additional! :)

I have to laugh, but my first trip to POR was during a refurbishment, and the TA, who loved, loved, loved the Dolphin and had me transferred over there. It was my least favorite trip; the least of which I sat at the bar the first night and paid 9 bucks for a 3 oz. Pour of wine. I did like the Buffeteria and the Spa, but these are things I could from any resort.

The next year I was at POR and never looked back.

No, it is part of Starwood resorts and does not qualify for FD.

Ha yeah, Way off topic we have some great choices of wine here and I wont charge you $9 a pour.

Love the wine at POR, but missed Todd this year....but loved seeing Holly back!

Just checked into a royal room and the fridge is not working so I guess I will be going up to ask for one or a $15 night refund.

No swan is not included in free dining. My choice is stay at POR the whole 9 nights with free dining or stay at WL for 6 nights with free dining and switch to Swan for 3 nights on points. The cost for both including EVERYTHING would be right around 4000. So cost being the same, what is better all POR or WL/swan split?

Yeah you might even be able to get other compensation as well. Just try to work with them and they will work with you trying to make it as magical as possible. I also know that you can request a fridge and perhaps if one is available they may swap it for you then.

In 17 days we check into a Royal Room at POR!!! :cool1:

I've seen some rumbling about refridgerators - not a huge deal for us but I'd like to know what is going on. Can someone recap for me, or point me to where I can find the info? Thanks in advance. :)

I've been trying all morning to visit the portorleans.org site and I receive an error every time. Am I the only one having the problem?

Ditto here. Wow, very unusual, but I believe Andre is on his way to POR and does not realize it. Maybe he forgot to keep it plugged in!

The small fridges have a safety issue and are being replaced. There is an entire thread for people on-site posting if they currently have a fridge.
