We are pretty sure that we are going to take a day trip to Sea World one of the days we are there, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I'd like to wait to purchase them the day before we go so we can be sure that we really are going to do it. My question is this, if I purchase them online, does the front desk have any way of printing them out for me?

Well, I'm sorry, but it's not a simple yes or no question and the detailed answer is in the first post.

How is it not a simple yes or no. They either have them in the rooms or they don't.

Being on my phone I cant see the 1st page

According to the first page:
All rooms include: phone, flat-screen TV, clock, small fridge (no freezer compartment), bathtub/shower, toilet, two wash basins, table & two chairs, bedside table, cabinet with drawers (beneath the TV), air conditioning & ceiling fan, small wall-safe, coffee maker (new Cuisinart dual-cup type, supplied with free Joffery's coffee pods), hair dryer, iron & ironing board, clothes hanging rail. H20-branded product is supplied, including bar soap and separate shampoo and conditioner. In mid-December 2011, FREE in-room wi-fi internet access was introduced throughout the Port Orleans resorts.

I see no mention of a microwave and they are not in any photos that I have seen.

Sounds like a simple "no" to me. :confused3

All resorts have fridges. When we checked into POP 2 weeks ago there was no fridge. But about half way through without asking one showed up in the room. I went to he desk and got a $60 credit for the nights we did not have one in the room.

That is what I thought, but I wonder why there are cast members who are so reluctant to give the credit?

I'm sorry, I could've sworn you asked about refrigerators, not microwaves. They have microwaves in the food court.

That's what I want to know!!! The CM at Pop was so miserable about giving me a credit, and it was only for 1 night. :confused3. You'd think she had to give it out of her wallet.

Is this because Pop is a value, or is it off the list of amenities of all the resorts?

No, not because it's a value. They now have fridges too. CM just said it was taken off the list of ammenities. Or to use her exact phrasing, fridges are not an amenity :sad2:
Now I'm curious to see if fridges have been taken off all resort lists! Going to look at web site now ;)

Ok, I'm back! Checked a few resorts, POR, POFQ, CSR, and fridges are off the amenities list now.

For those who have stayed at POR with consecutive reservations, what time can you check in for your second reservation? Is it possible to do it the night before.

Here is my situation. We have two reservations, 7-12 Jan (5 nights) Standard View and 12-21 Jan (9 nights) Garden View. The problem is our check out/ check in date is 12 Jan and We'll be running the WDW marathon that day. So we'll be leaving for the race at 3am and probably won't get back until after noon. Originally we had booked a standard room for both reservations, hoping to have the same room for both, but our travel agent changed the second booking to Garden View when talking advantage of the SPD promotion, so it worked out cheaper.

Any suggestions about how we could handle this with minimum of fuss?

Unfortunately, no.

Check out of your Standard View room before you leave for the race and give Bell Services your luggage to hold for you. After the race, check in to the Garden View Room. Once in the room, call Bell Services and have them bring up your luggage.

We just spent that night here at PORT ORLEANS. It is amazing. We checked in and received tons of pixie dust. We swam, ate at the food court and took the boat to downtown disney. The boys are just in awe of it all. Thanks to everyone that posted and helped me plan!

Just back from an AMAZING week at POR !!!! I have some pictures to share that I will post later this week, hopefully.

For now.......have to head back to work today

I did want to add that, we did not have a fridge in our room. I DID NOT ask for the room credit. Honestly, not having the fridge did not dampen our vacation in any form. We had a small cooler for drinks and dessert leftovers, that we simply kept full of the free ice that the resort provides.

If you have a medical need for a fridge, I understand that POR will do their very best to get you one.

What would be the best way to try to get some "pixie dust" for my parents and or my son? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If your father is a Veteran, then you could try to get to Magic Kingdom for rope drop and immediately go to the Town Hall and ask about his being the Veteran of the Day. He would get to participate in the Flag Retreat, get a certificate, a special pin, and an 8X10 picture of his participation.

I'm sorry for the long post but I am looking for some advice in planning my trip.

We are going on a Disney cruise in July 2014. Since they are still offering discounted rooms & tickets to the military we decided to add on a few days at WDW. We stayed at POR on our last tip Thanksgiving 2012 and wanted to stay there again on this trip but they don't have any standard rooms available at the military rate when we will be there. I was able to get 2 standard rooms at POFQ.

We are not morning people and are planning to visit the parks later in the day and stay until closing and let the kids sleep in. I really wanted POR since my mom would enjoy walking around the resort in the mornings while the kids sleep. I know POR is not a far walk from POFQ but due to a previous illness my mom is a slower walker and may not want to walk to POR and back to avoid getting too tired at the parks.

Would walking around POFQ be as enjoyable as POR? Are there shady walkways and places to sit at POFQ? Is the walk to POR shady or will it be in the direct sun? Since POFQ is smaller I didn't expect rooms to be available there as opposed to POR. Should I continue calling and hope that there will be 2 standard rooms available at POR or just hope POFQ will work out? Thanks for the advice and help.

I think the walk around POFQ was really nice and she could always take the boat over to POR if she prefers. I hope you have a fabulous trip! The cruise is wonderful!

I guess if you really want POR, I'd continue to call. There were no rooms available when we wanted to stay and more opened up. People cancel. It doesn't hurt to check!

We've stayed at both. While I think POR is prettier, we liked POFQ too. It does have shady walkways, and plenty of benches. And the river path is very pleasant.

The walk over to POR isn't shady. But she can take the boat.

What about garden view rooms? Would they be on the discount? They are only $10 more a night then standard view room.
