If u hv a car then u shd hv plenty of time. It is the timing to get the bus going and returning that took the most time for us. Had to add a half hour to our transit which took away from our break time.

Thanks! We will just plan to usually take the car, then.

Andre has all of the transportation options listed out on the first page. :) As far as the buses go, sometimes the South (main) Depot is the first stop, sometimes the West Depot is the first stop. If you have any questions about how the boats run, you can find those answers on the first page too.

POR is a great resort! I'm going back for the 5th time in December, and I can hardly wait!

Got our luggage tags but my discount coupons arent in there. Hmmm. I am having a forgetful moment. CAN SOMEONE let me know if that should have been in thd mailing or you get that at check in??? The discount golf coupons etc?? Anyone???

Do you mean your magical express luggage tags or the souvenir type tags sent with some package deals? We got our mag exp tags entirely separate from our package stuff. It was the package mailing that had the discounts in there.

Interesting. I got all my stuff in one envelope.

Thank you Andre and Maxiesmom.
I'm really trying to make sure we get a good location for our upcoming trip. We stayed at CSR last trip, and ended up at the furthest out Ranchos building. It was great for the bus stop, but it was a 15 minute walk each way to the main building. That's when my family decided that we would be willing to pay for a better location.
It seems like the preferred buildings at POR are central to main building. pool and bus stops. I read somewhere that the furthest building at POR is still only a 7-8 minute walk to the main building.(true?) I just don't want to be disappointed.
I have requested building 14 or 15. Does this sound like a good request to be closest to everything (including bus stops)?
Thanks

I saw a post on Facebook that said boats from POR and FQ to Downtown Disney will not be running at times starting Oct 9 through Oct 19? Has anyone else seen this information?

Oct. 9- 4:15 PM- 6:45 PM
Oct. 10-17 10AM- 11 AM and 3:15- 6:45 PM
Oct. 18- 10 AM- 11 AM and 3:15 to closing
Oct. 19- 10 AM- 5:30 PM

There will be additional busses running during these times for roundtrip transportation to these resorts.

These seem like strange times, especially the ones that go into the evening dinner hours - doesn't seem like they would be dredging or doing construction at night....

I think either 14 or 15 would be pretty perfect.:)

I understand completely about Ranchos at CSR. That was not my favorite location there either.:crazy2:

Question about coffee- on vacation I typically go for an early morning run and stop for coffee before heading back to the room. We are on DDP. Do I need to bring my mug or can I get just coffee on the DDP plan (no breakfast) at the food court?

:)

I am here at POR now. I am going to ask about this bc we plan to take the boat on the 10th. Noone has told us that, and I just went through our paperwork for check in. I would call, but I've heard the "front desk" button gets you someone not even at the resort. So....I'll stop by the boat dock myself and find out straight from them.

That would be awesome. We have plans for the boat on the 11th in the afternoon once we arrive. It would be nice to know ahead if there is a glitch in the current plan.

That is correct. So definitely go down and speak to someone.:thumbsup2

Yep you have to have your mug. If you have any type of loop or drawstring you could clip it to you or a really lite weight drawstring backpack would work.

You can do that if you want to waste a snack credit on coffee. You'll have to go back to the room for the mugs. You're not going to run with mugs dangling from your shorts.

56 days and counting.....can't wait to check in and start using all this wonderful information I've gathered on this site!

Got my Mickey Mail today! (Well, probably yesterday but didn't check the mail until today.) 31 days till WDW, 32 until my wedding, and 33 until Wine & Dine.! /dance!

For those using Magic Bands, don't forget to ask for the "2013" glow-in-the-dark slider when checking in. It's a fun little gizmo to adorn your MB.
