Helpppp

I am going next week for a week at the grand Floridian and then 3 nights POR. We have booked a pool view room and were hoping to be in the alligator bayou. What room request if any should I put in? I am worried as I changed my plan from the French quarter which I had originally booked and now worried I made a mistake. Never stayed at either. Can anyone give me some advice? Or put my mind at ease! We are two friends each bringing one child each. :wave2:

I would do these on the same fax putting both confirmation numbers in there. Make sure you state the most important first and then everything in order. I would mention that you are trying to stay as close as possible to each other in your group as well. Maybe just maybe if the magic fairy is watching over you then someone may get upgraded. But no Promises, but has happened in the past. All I can say is send in the fax like I mentioned and let me know what you hear.

Thanks, Venomhatch. Sorry for all the last minute questions. I'll send the fax off tomorrow (5 days before check-in). The fax is all ready to go!

Congrats on your upcoming stay! You may not hear anything back on the faxes as we are kind of busy setting up for the holidays coming but if you didn't get an error on your end we received it. I truly hope you have a magical stay with us!

Thank you, practically bursting out of my skin with excitement, first time with our almost one year old and first time for SIL. No error on my end. Unless a swarm of locusts appear or any other such end of days disasters occur I know it will be fantastic, thank you!!

Hello everyone :yay:

We've been to WDW tons of times, however, have always stayed offsite... got a PIN :cheer2: and have decided to stay on property for the first time, in February, 2014 at a moderate resort :cool1:

I've read through all the posts and have decided to stay at one of the Port Orleans resorts, however, am at an impasse :scratchin do we choose POR or POFQ?!? Just not sure...

HELP!! what has been your experience at POR or POFQ? Is one resort "better" than the other?!?

Truly appreciate your responses :flower3::flower3:

...the work trolls have gotten wind of the fact that I'm on vacation and have piled up the work on my desk so I can look at it before I go away.

Tom

I have 9 more days and I feel the "work trolls" waiting in the shadows too. Love that term by the way. :)

How exciting the first on site stay is. Enjoy! we stay at POFQ but walk over POR alot . I can only offer my opinion . My husband and I like pofq better because we are with no children anymore till grand kids come and it's much more quiet which is what we want. They are both very nice just pofq is smaller a little more quiet. But who knows anymore things change based

I'll give you the final verdict when I get back but I have stayed at POFQ twice and so far it is my favorite of the moderate resorts. POR is the only one I haven't stayed at. POFQ is nice and small, beautifully landscaped and I love the beignets!

We leave in 9 days :)

Can someone tell me how the crowds are at the parks?

Thanks so much

We just got back today and out of the 3 parks we visited - Epcot, DHS & MK - to us the crowds were intense. DHS was so crowded on Monday we only went to TSM that we had a FP+ for & returned to BC. Epcot was crowded due to F&W and MK we went about 5pm & I was overwhelmed by the amount of people there. Wait times for the big stuff was way over an hour & FPs were gone or super late. People mover broke down as we were walking over to get on. I can't remember October ever being like this before. Plus the weather is hotter than hot!! Have fun on your trip!

This weeks crowd may be because of Columbus Day.

Also there has been some talk of a glitch in the FP (legacy) system that was giving out info that FP were gone real early when they actually wern't.

Sorry it was so busy for you this week.

I'm getting pretty concerned and bummed out about the long bus wait times that have been mentioned on here recently. Is Disney aware of the long wait situation and if so, is there anything they are able to do about it? Maybe I should start looking into renting a car? I'm confused on what to do :confused3
I was there last Thursday through this Tuesday. We never had to wait more than 7ish minutes for a bus. The one that took the longest and had the most people was for Animal Kingdom. None were bad waits, though, and it was a very busy weekend!!!

Hi sunset7132 :wave2: how are you? Thanks much for responding :)

I've read that POFQ is quiet and less crowded, which DH and I love... our DD is 11 years old and loves Princess and the Frog, so we are trying to decide if we should stay at POR in a royal room, so DD can have her fill of Princess Tiana :confused3

Decisions, Decisions :faint:

I'm going to share you post with DH because it adds additional info we need to make a final decision...

Thanks again pixiedust:

I think POR is very large so if you don want to be very far make sure you fax them a room request.you can see a room layout on porterlean s.org. Both resorts are very nic we are partial to POFQ because we like the serenity of it
