First time at POR. With fd couldn't book preferred only garden view. Going Oct. 18-27. We have an almost 3 year old and a 9 and 12 year old. I'm renting a stroller so I will have one at POR with me. I don't care if we have a second floor without elevator. I do care about how far away from main building I could be. I had some cms say 15 min walk others say 5. The bus stops at 4 places if not sharing with FQ-is that a big prob waiting? Is there a pool for tots there? Or anything like a splash pad (stayed at pop 4 years ago and they had the water squirting up play area). I'm sure we will love it there but little freaked out about not knowing. I can see me lost finding my room lol

Free dining in October? When/how did you get that? PIN? I have not seen such a promo.

I saw on here one night the fd pin codes that were out. I checked my email and nothing. I do usually get pin codes much so I called in. The pin was attached to my name:)

Does anyone know who would be the best person to contact after a trip to compliment a particular CM at POR? We had an excellent housekeeper on our trip, who we thought really went above and beyond the norm for housekeeping, based on past experiences both at WDW and elsewhere. I wanted to write a letter complimenting her, but I'm not sure who to send it to.

I asked about it at the front desk and was given a business card for Guest Communication Services, which seems like a pretty general office for just any communication with WDW. I'm wondering if that's the best place to send my letter, or if there is someone at POR who would be better to send it to, in order to make it more likely that the letter actually gets back to the housekeeper's supervisor.

Believe it or not, the guest services email address works great for situations like this. We had a CM at CBR go above and beyond a couple trips ago so I sent off an email to guest services with all the details. They replied within 2 days thanking me for taking the time to compliment the CM and to say my email has been forwarded to the CM's manager and a copy placed in his file. Word from a couple CMs in our extended family, that a "kudos" letter/email from a guest placed in their file is a big deal.

Hi :wave2:

We are considering staying here for our first trip next May. We are looking at spending 5 of our 9 nights at POR (the other 4 at AoA). I was reviewing some of the amenities/offerings at both of these resorts. Does POR offer something near the pool area where you can order cocktails? We will be dedicating 1 full day of our vacation to relax poolside, and I would love to enjoy a few cocktails while relaxing. I had decided for our pool day to be at this resort over AoA due to the waterslide feature.

Thanks for your help!

Yes. There is the Muddy Rivers pool bar!

The safes can hold more than you think.. Last year I took my nook, and my kids took their ipods. We put my wallet, my husbands wallet, my set of keys and husbands set of keys, 2 ipods, and my nook.
The safes are very small, and definitely not large enough to fit a laptop. They're really only big enough to hold a few small things, like a wallet, cell phone, and camera. I didn't try, but I'm not even sure if my Kindle would have fit in the safe.

If you go over on the discount codes and rates board, you will see people reporting they have received a pin code for free dining for the remainder of the year.

It is usually a good indication of a general public discount at some point.

Faxed requests yesterday, hoping for pixie dust, but happy either way. Now to pack (Sat), take dog to pet hotel (Fri), lots of other stuff, but have to work 2 more days :(. Can't wait for make your own pasta :woohoo:

Getting close to 250 Andre, I wonder if it will get there before we leave :)

I'm a mess! Nothing done!!! We leave Sunday and in working straight through. Going to try to do online check-in tonight and maybe request a corner room

We check in on June 1st. First time staying at POR. So excited! Thank you all for this great thread to get us excited for this resort!!!!

We are staging for our first visit at POR and arrive on Sunday June 16. We know that we want to order from the garden grocer, can anyone suggest a good time to place that order? Also do we have to be there when they drop it off? And lastly what address should we put into the system for the delivery location ?

Thanks a bunch !!!

We ordered from garden grocer in December and was great! Check the website for when you should order ( depends on time of year ). You do not need to be there. You tell them when you are arriving and they will make sure the food is there before you get to POR. Then POR will store the food until you check in ( and deliver to your room if you ask). If I remember correct, there is a section at check out where you pick the resort your staying at. Also if you order any alcohol you have to fax or email a copy of your ID to show your over 21.
Have fun!!

Awesome!! Thank You so much!! Only 25 more days!! Work seems to drag slower and slower everyday!! And thank you for the alcohol tip, I wasn't aware that was an option, but a glass of wine sounds perfect after a long day!

A nice cold beer while the kids played on the beach was perfect after a long park day!
