Port Orleans Riverside Preferred Rooms

Which buildings in POR have the preferred rooms? I know they are considered the waterview rooms, but is it possible to pay extra and still get a room in a really bad location? We have stayed at CBR and ASMo and had preferred rooms and the locations were great. I can't quite figure out where the preferred rooms in POR would be. Also, are there preferred rooms in the mansions? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the extra money.

Caribbean Beach is the only moderate that has a booking class for preferred rooms. POR has standard and water view rooms that could be located anywhere in the resort.

We have paid for the water view room three times, all three times we were in the mansions. Once we had a quiet pool view and twice we had a view of the river. DH and I like the fact that these rooms made us feel that we were right in the middle of the resort. For our previous stays we had rooms right on the parking lot or very near to it and we felt "on the outside." It seems to be the general opinion on here that the extra money is not worth it since there is no balcony on the moderates but DH and I like to spend a lot of time at the resort and to us it is worth it, although for our December trip we were not going to go for the extra money but that was all that was available with the AAA discount. We had water view rooms twice at Oak Manor and once in Acadian.
