Feb 2012, I'd wait til maybe Jan. But you can always call either your TA or Disney reservations and try and add that now.

For our trip in May/June 2012, I already have that on my requests. My "stuff" came from WDTC yesterday and it is noted that I want a refurbed room.

Was it decided that since the Garden View room category for early Jan. has queen beds listed, that they are already all refurbed????

I posted back about a page ago that I just returned and loved POR! I agree that the pics make me miss it even more!

I had a questions about the bathrooms. Our room was a newly refurbed room in Acadian house. The bathroom was big and bright! I was so excited that it had a door! What I mean is that toilet, sink, and shower were all enclosed in one room with a door. This made it nice for getting dressed and having a lot of room to get ready with the door shut. I thought this was a great part of the refurb since other mods I have stayed in have had a curtain between the sink and the rest of the room. Then I found out not all the refurbed rooms were the same set up.

We had connecting rooms with the other people in our party and when I visited their room I noticed some differences. They were on a corner and had two windows. They had a rack to hang pins or something else on that we didn't have but we had a big armorie (spelling?) closet thing that was handy and they didn't have that. They did not have the door to the bathroom like we did, they had a curtain.

Was just wondering about these differences. Is it common for rooms to have differences?

You had an accessbible room. the other layout is the norm (with the curtain)

We had a curtain between the bathroom & bedroom. I wish they all had doors.

Thanks Doc and Andrew. I just don't like to drink on an empty stomach. And don't worry, if we bring food from next door we will definitely be ordering those wonderful bloody Marys.

Woohoo! 60 days from now we'll be landing in Orlando & taking the ME to POR! Getting so excited!:love::love::love:

Maybe you all could help me with this...
We have booked a preferred room at POR this coming January (2012). We haven't stayed here since they changed the room categories (king, preferred, water, and standard). We usually request a preferred room, with a king bed. When we booked this trip, it wasn't possible to book a preferred AND king room. We would like both, but i recently read somewhere that there are no King beds in the current "preferred" buildings. Is this true? There is no possibility of getting a King bed in one of the preferred buildings at POR? Right now we are booked in a preferred, and have requested a King bed. Is this even possible?
I thought we were all set with our reservations...now i'm nervous about this!

8 Days for me!!! Booked a River View room and can't wait to get to Orlando in a week and a day and start the vacation. Leaving Buffalo at 6am landing at MCO around 8:30am, and spending the whole first day at POR relaxing and enjoying it!

Great, I hope you all have a great time! I have always wanted to do Halloween there.

Yeah all the preferred are in the Alligator Bayou Area and I dont believe there are Kings to my knowledge in preferred area.

Anyone else gonna be there then?
We booked a preferred room, would love a king bed, but from what I understand there are only a few of them?

12 days for us! It's getting so close that I can hardly contain myself!

I am not sure about King Beds but I do know that most preferred rooms have queen beds compared to standard rooms with doubles.... Once all the rooms are refurb'ed I am not sure...

We had a king bed in a preferred building.... however we had an accessible room room. I guess it wouldn't hurt to put that as a preference.

Personally the only thing we DIDN'T like about our room was that it was a king... but it was such an awesome location we stayed with it!! (It was DM and myself and she kicked me out of bed one night when she got sick.... literally!)

No preferred rooms at POR have queen beds yet, that section of the resort is not going to be refurbished until next year.

I'm not sure it was an accessible room because you had to step up into the bathtub for the shower. Wouldn't an accessible room have a flat wheel in shower?

It seemed just like a regular room except the door/curtain difference. I definitely liked having the door!

My Bad - I just assumed this where my Ressie for a Preferred room in March said I had 2 Queen & a trundle bed ...
