How so sue? And maybe my brain is fried but what is "ap" thanks!

Sorry. AP = Annual Pass. Jan/Feb mods get 35% off room only.

Because I have an AP I can add on DDP (dining plan) without buying park tickets, still thinking about it. But thinking of no DDP this time just to see how that works out for us. I'll still do TS for dinner, but booked the less expensive ones

ohh ok thanks much

We rented SeaRaycers at Poly & WL for the same reason KCmike states.

Another thing to remember is that the SeaRaycers on Seven Seas Lagoon are slightly faster than the ones rented out on the Sassagoula River. The river-based ones are limited due to the more restricted navigation routes and the need to keep the wake down I presume.

Thanks for the opinions on the sea raycers. I will let DH know and he and DS12 can decide what they want to do. If they rented them it would be at POR (we're really trying to take advantage of what the POR resort offers-aka we are trying to relax and take vacation!).

Anyone had a little pirate try out the Bayou Cruise lately?pirate:

You can do the dining plan with an AP?? I did not realize that. We have AP's for the first time this year & trying to decide if I want the dining plan when we go in April.

Hey Guys!

Have any of you rented the Sea Raycers out for the 1/2 hour? I suggested this to DH and DS12 as something new to do, didn't know if anyone else had tried it and what your thoughts were?

Have any of you had your peeps on the Bayou Pirate Cruise? I had read good reviews of it on the boards. I have one reserved for DS5.

One more-how is the playground? Are there swings?

TTFN!

My GD7 went on the Pirate Cruise from the GF last summer. She said it was great and it gave my DH and me a little time to relax. We followed it up with her first facial at the resort spa. Thinking about sending her out on the one at POR this year.

When I told DS12 that I had reserved the Pirate Cruise for his brother, DS5, DS12 said, "well, do I get to do anything extra special?" and I said "yes, you get 2-3 hours all to yourself to do whatever you want without your brother." The perfect gift for DS12. :)

Yes, you can book the AP + Dining pkg without buying tickets.

Very true! Another reason we like to rent at the MK resorts

Just back! Spent from 9/29-10/8 at POR. We got a refurbished room at Acadian house. We loved our room. It was really nice. I especially liked how the bathroom seemed so big and bright. The brighter the room the better for me. I just equate it with cleaner even thought that is not always the case. Our room was very clean though and I am hard to please in that category. I was relieved that I felt clean there and our room really felt like our room for the time we were there.

Requests were close to being honored. We requested two connecting rooms in Magnolia Terrace. We got what we wanted but were in Acadian. The location didn't end up being a problem and it ended up working out nice.

We wished that the quiet pool near us had been opened but we knew ahead it was getting refurbed. The main pool was great and the kids enjoyed the slide even if it was pretty chilly on a few of the days.

Food court was good, never had trouble finding a table. Only got to listen to Bob Jackson for a few minutes but he sounded as good as everyone says. Front desk staff was very pleasnant. Everyone we encountered seemed on the ball.

Rented bikes and rode around the resort for an hour. That was fun. It was a little different at first since I hadn't ridden a bike in many, many years!

I am thinking about calling to add a request for a refurbed room to our reservation for February. Should I do it now? Or should I wait til the trip gets closer?

Also wondering about others' experiences with requests, and how does POR do with this? Did you get what you requested?

Thanks :)

Feb 2012, I'd wait til maybe Jan. But you can always call either your TA or Disney reservations and try and add that now.

We're going next weekend for F & W. We want to see Yeehaw Bob and wondered if they serve food in the lounge. TIA.

They do serve a few snacks at the River Roost Lounge, but since it's just along the corridor from the main food court you could always get some food from there and bring it to your table. It'd be polite to get your drinks from the staff at the River Roost though, as you'll be taking up one of their tables.

Oh, KCMike your pictures were great before our trip. Now they just make me homesick :sad1:.

I posted back about a page ago that I just returned and loved POR! I agree that the pics make me miss it even more!

I had a questions about the bathrooms. Our room was a newly refurbed room in Acadian house. The bathroom was big and bright! I was so excited that it had a door! What I mean is that toilet, sink, and shower were all enclosed in one room with a door. This made it nice for getting dressed and having a lot of room to get ready with the door shut. I thought this was a great part of the refurb since other mods I have stayed in have had a curtain between the sink and the rest of the room. Then I found out not all the refurbed rooms were the same set up.

We had connecting rooms with the other people in our party and when I visited their room I noticed some differences. They were on a corner and had two windows. They had a rack to hang pins or something else on that we didn't have but we had a big armorie (spelling?) closet thing that was handy and they didn't have that. They did not have the door to the bathroom like we did, they had a curtain.

Was just wondering about these differences. Is it common for rooms to have differences?
