Made my last payment for our trip today! I'm so excited. Time is flying by. I am sure it will slow down to a snail's pace soon. I do have a question. What is the best way to get to the Disney Sports complex from the resort? My family is going to catch a game in the basketball tourney and we are wondering if it would be best to drive.

Yeah for having it all paid off. I think ours will be paid in full in two weeks! Isn't that sports complex at Boardwalk or am I thinking of something else?

Traveling 24 hrs isn't too bad. We had a 2 hr domestic flight. 13 hours to LA then a 16hr stopover (we went to the Disney soda fountain in Hollywood) and then 4.5 hrs to MCO! But being at Disney makes it all worthwhile!

We went to the Disney soda fountain a few months ago when we flew out to LA to see my sister-in-law! Isn't it cute? We all had ice cream cones and I swiped one of those napkins for my scrapbook ;)

If you are referring to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, there are buses from the All Star resorts, Pop Century and CBR only.

If you are referring to the ESPN Club it is on the Boardwalk. There is no bus that goes from POR directly to the Boardwalk resort.

The ESPN Club is located on the boardwalk.

There is also an ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex that is it's own destination on WDW property. It has baseball fields, football fields, etc and bar/restaurant.

I'm not sure which one the OP was asking about.

I did mean the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. They are hosting a NCAA tourney, The Old Spice Classic, while we will be there. From the looks of it, driving may be our best bet. Thanks for the help.

Does River Roost Lounge show Monday night football?? Is it super crowded? Our team (Go Texans!!!) will be playing Monday night on ESPN while we are there. They play the Patriots so it will be a great game, and my hubby would love to watch it. Thanks!!

I would guess that they will. My DH watched the World Series there back in 2005 when our beloved White Sox won. They even left the TV on for them once it was closing time since those games went deep into the night and extra innings.

I'm sure this has been answered before several times, but i'm having no luck in finding it. Where are the royal guest rooms located or are they spread throughout the property. Also how far is the bus stop from this location. In the busy parts of the day do they still share a bus with POFQ. TIA

Go here and look at the map: http://www.portorleans.org/riverside-info.php

No, the RRooms are only in Oak Manor & Parterre Place, and you can see the bus stops. I don't know off the top of my head the bus schedule - someone else can chime in.

From the FAQ in the first post of this thread:

What types of room are available?

The 512 new Royal Guest Rooms are located exclusively in Oak Manor and Parterre Place and are all fitted with two queen beds (no Kings or Murphy beds).

Getting so anxious, I wont be able to sleep tonight!!!! Or tomorrow night!!!!
I hope we can get ground floor in Alligator Bayou.....don't care where its located in the section. How much extra is it per night if we want a garden view, if they don't offer it as a free upgrade? I also may inquire about the Royal Suites, I hear they have plenty left available, so maybe it wont be much more to stay in those rooms.

Either way, sooooooooo excited!!!!

Hey I PMed you back hope you got my message!!!;)

Buses run about 60 minutes before and 90 minutes after park closing. DTD buses leave DTD around 1.30 am or so to go back to the resorts. The water taxi leaves DTD for the last time at 11 pm, in order to dock for the night at the marina at POR.

The exception is that parks buses run infrequently for ADR's in the a.m starting at 6:30 am.

We stayed in Parterre place and had a 3-5 minute walk to the south depot. Very convenient.

If I stayed in Parterre Place, is AB building 16 just as convenient to get to south depot, main/quiet pool and main buildings? I enjoyed the the walk from PP and didn't think it was far at all.

I realized this weekend that we are going to be in Disney for the OSU-Michigan on Nov 24. It will be on ABC, but probably not in FLA. Anyone know where we could watch it? Or is it telecast down there? Seriously haven't missed one in 20 yrs.

ESPN Club at BWI would be your best bet

Holy bus issues, Batman!

Last night at 10:30, the line for Riverside at MK was at least five to six times longer than to ANY other resort. I have no idea what happened. After a good twenty minutes no buses for POR had come and the line was insane.

Thankfully I remembered someone here had said of POR is bad, take the POFQ bus. So we did. It was about ten more minutes to board POFQ and still not a single POR bus had come. Other resorts had seen three, four and even five buses come in that time. There were easily enough people to fill four buses for por! So we took POFQ and walked back. It was definitely the right decision! Whoever said that, thank you! The walk is so peaceful and it helped me calm down from the bus craziness!!!

This morning we waited over an hour at 9:30 for a bus to Epcot. One came after 50 minutes but it was full and it was at least 15 minutes until another came. There was a CM at the stop entertaining the kids and he wrote us all fast passes to apologize. No one was really complaining and no one asked for the FP so it was a cool gesture. He kept calling for an Epcot bus and it just didn't come!

Thankfully leaving Epcot tonight was better. Two PO buses pulled up at the same time. Our party of six ended up on two different buses but we got back at about the same time.

The funny thing is, as much as the bus lines are crazy for POR, the resort doesn't feel crowded at all. We feel kind of isolated back here in Oak Manor, it's very quiet!

Overall, so far we are sorta thinking next time we will go back to POFQ. We miss the smallness and the one bus stop! But we are loving all that there is to do at POR. We still have five more days we will see how the rest of the weeks goes!

And other than those bus issues, everything is absolutely wonderful. Lots of towel animals! My kids love all the poolside games. My daughter won bingo yesterday. :)
