If I requested Alligator Bayou, what are the chances of me getting that section? I do not really care where the location is. Though if possible, I would prefer 1st floor and NOT facing the parking lot.

There are twice as many rooms in AB as there are in the mansion buildings, so your odds are pretty good. What category of room did you book? 'Standard' rooms consist mostly of parking lot views, with Garden View and above being the rooms which face inwards into the resort (gardens, courtyards, bayou, etc).

So excited! Love all the info here. I just booked a Royal Room for our stay in December. Can't wait to see it in person. :lovestruc

Hi all! I have a royal room booked for my daughter's 13th birthday trip. It will just be her and I. :goodvibes I think I am looking at the map properly. Is Oak Manor a better location to request? We'd like to be closer to the action if possible, if that makes sense. Thanks for any help!

Which booking category did you get?

The rooms in riverview in Parterre Place would be closer to the main building than Standard view in Oak Manor.

Well some of them anyway, depending which section you get. And also Oak is closer for walking to the main pool, and to the East bus stop too. I'd say Oak is probably the better bet all round, but it does rather depend on exactly which room you get, as they are both quite large buildings.

Too right I did! I thought that Le Cellier was no longer such an issue (due to two dining plan credits) so with all the hassle of getting Be Our Guest booked, I left Le Cellier until I got home from our trip (about 175 days out by the time I checked).... and it's sold out for Lunch + Dinner every single day of our Feb trip. :(

Andre

I haven't been on for a few days so I'm just seeing this. I was so frustrated at 180 days for my trip at the end of Feb and first of March and sold out for lunch already! Do we know what's up? Do you think it's really sold out?

I preferred the garden and fountain of Parterre Place over Oak Manor. The distance from the center of the building to the bridge is about the same for both. We were located in the center of Parterre and had a quick and easy walk to the main buildings, pools, and south depot. Since most people request Oak thinking it is so much closer, you might have a better chance for a better location by requesting Parterre. That was my logic and I received an awesome upgrade. :thumbsup2

Ditto for me.

For Oak Manor, I prefer riverview or waterview near the quiet pool.

For garden view, I actually prefer the views at Parterre Place. The bridge is close and brings you to the front of the building. There are also some nice benches along the way to have a seat and enjoy the weather and watch the water taxi go by.

In addition, I had a riverview room at Parterre Place a few years ago - solo trip, corner king bed room - was the best room I have ever had in trips.

The talk at the moment is that nothing at Le Cellier has been sold after around mid-January (presumably when lunch goes to 2 DDP credits). So it's not actually sold out for Feb/March, it's just that nothing has been made available at all yet.

OMG.

They received my fax. I got an email within a few hours!!!

This is above and beyond anything I asked for and beyond anything I expected!!!

We are getting a free upgrade to a royal room. I seriously can't believe it. I burst into tears when I read the email! It was a Mr. Elg and he said the easiest way to put us close to our family would be a "complimentary upgrade to a royal room" so that he could put us in side by side rooms. He ended the email with "if that is ok with you, let me know." um, yes, yes that is ok with me!!!

How did I miss the 2 credits! Bummer....I read something a while back but forgot about it. As much as we like Le Cellier, I don't want to use 2 credits for it.

That is sooo exciting for you! It's so much fun to hear these stories!

Are trundle beds in every building or only in some?
do they have any in the royal rooms?

None of the rooms have trundle beds. The rooms in Alligator Bayou used to have them, but they've all been recently refurbished and now all have Murphy beds.

That is amazing! :goodvibes Love Disney!!!

There are no trundle beds in ANY of the rooms any more. They were only ever in the Alligator Bayou section anyway, but during the refurbishment they were replaced with rather nice new fold-down murphy beds. But those are still only in the AB section, so none in the Royal Rooms. See the FAQ in the first post for more details.

Which just goes to prove that the very nice people in David's department at Port Orleans do read faxes! :)

Great news. I didn't want to say anything when I saw what you'd sent (especially as I didn't want to get yours, or any other peoples, hopes up) but I do know that if there is enough availability and they can make changes to keep parties together, they will try to do so. The difficulty comes when one person has booked a Royal Room and the other wants a King Bed, as (very ironically, or so it seems to me) there are no King rooms in the Royal buildings.
