11 more days for us! Mar 21-27 I can't wait! We don't have the free dining or a dining plan and we didn't book a Royal Room, but hopefully it will still be a magical first trip to WDW for us!

i cant get the rr to show for any date even with out a discount on the site. Im kicking myself for not booking, crossing my fingers some open up under free dining so i can switch.

I found a post at 4:00 am this morning, when I had insomnia, that Disney had a glitch in their system yesterday for trying to book mods. Don't give up

I could be wrong but i think they pulled them from booking until they have info on the rooms that just opened and how things are going with the work on the other building. i looked myself too and i couldn't find any RR's for any dates.

i really hope thats the case! they look so awesome, i would love to surprise everyone by getting one. If they do open up i have to call and switch right? cant they just switch it or will i need to cancel and rebook?

Nothing from inside the rooms yet [sorry, but maybe next post.....] but here are a few pics from the handover ceremony yesterday. Many thanks to the person who sent them for us.


It was apparently a hectic day, but the cast had a lovely ceremony in the afternoon, and Val Bunting (General Manager) and her leadership team dressed as Royalty for the occasion. The Exec Housekeeper read a proclamation officially handing the rooms over from the rehab crew to the Housekeepers, and got them to promise to keep these lovely new rooms looking immaculate and smelling great.

There was cake and chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels for the celebrations, and sparkling cider (in champagne glasses of course!) for a toast.

Besides the rooms, they've also done some enhancements to the courtyard area. The fountain is painted royal blue inside, and the water lighting is coloured at night. There are also spiral topiaries and royal banners featuring the crowns and swords of various princesses and princes. There are also new topiaries with twinkling lights.

Wow indeed, the royal room craziness brought us up to 200 real quick 250 is around the corner... I think another thread might be around the corner as well.

This morning I couldn't get a RR to come up for October but when I took the tickets off and had it room only it included the RR's too.

Okay, I am sitting here in tears. This is like sharing something special with your "second" family.

I have to admit a shameless secret. I have had insomnia for a few weeks (work stress, of course). I was up at 3 am and going back and forth between here and other posts, waiting for pics, since Andre is about five hours ahead of us.

Like I expected guests to be on line at 3 am so Andre could have received them when he got up in the UK.
