Wow Venomhatch, that trip flew for me and i'm sure it seemed to fly by for you! It seems like just yesterday you left! Can't wait for your report and pictures. So did you love the Poly?

I am booking PORS tomorrow for sept 14-23. Me my DW and DS4 will be there. I would like queen beds, do I just make a reservation (non royal room, and i dont necessarily need a trundle bed at all) normally? Or do I need to specifically ask for queen bed room? Does that cost more? (I want a standard room BTW)

Yeah I know.... That's why I am sad to say we had such a great time. We miss it already. We had a very nice trip, so nice we talked about booking the next place we would stay and the little one wants poly. But if it comes out of our budget then it might be the Fiji building 3rd floor marina side.

Quick question--we have a King Bed reseveration for Oct. Are the King rooms ALL Handicapped accessible i.e rolling in showers? We dont need or really care for those type bathrooms (no offense) :)
Or they your regular old king rooms? Also--are they scattered throughout the resort or just certain sections. Lastly-are the renovating the whole resort rooms (not just queen beds) but room decor too?
:goodvibes

By October, all of the rooms at Port Orleans should have been fully refurbished. King Bed rooms are scattered all around the resort - you could even get lucky and be given a river view!

Post-refit, only a very small number of King Bed rooms will be Accessible (the vast majority of Accessible rooms are being switched to two queen bed rooms).

Acadian House has already been completed with queen beds. I would request that.

With standard view, you may be facing the parking lot. We were last year. But we were right near the bus stop, and didn't see five people walk by our room all week. We had a couple of smokers with us, so they strolled around the parking lot and smoked far away from the building. It was ideal for us.

Venomhatch - again, Which lens did you use the most but if you only had room for one, what would it be even if you don't own it?

Glad you had such a great trip!

Going to POR Aug. 25th to Sept.4th. Just" upgraded" to a Garden View room for the free dining dates. There are no standard rooms available with the free dining. We had booked and pd for our rooms back in Dec. , waiting and hoping for some kind of pin or special. The new FD rule is a garden room or better for the deal, except for CBR.

Just got back home last night at 10:30pm, already planning on next trip. I am compiling a post trip report and some pics to share, if there is anything particular shots of anything requested?

Welcome back Venom. Wow did that ever go by fast! I sure am looking forward to your trip report.

Did you LGMH help you meet any Diser's?

I'd also like to know about your monorail train. Did you try the Christmas store for a different color? How much was it? Can you post a picture of it set up? I'm thinking of getting one as well for under the tree next year. I've had a Star Wars tree for the past few years and am thinking I'd like to have a Disney one next year if the DW is ok with that.

Getting so excited - two more weekends to go. I can't think about anything else. :woohoo:

I just ordered our groceries from Garden Grocer. Just pulling my lists together for all those last minute things to do. Should I call to make a final request for building or room or should I just let my originial request do it's job?

You can always call up to five days before you check-in to place any additional requests on your reservation. You can also just call and reiterate to the CM at CRO your requests.

After that, they roll over to the resort itself and there is no way of calling the resort directly.

Well it looks like you won't be rid of me anytime soon -- just returned from Beach Club and we booked POR Royal Rooms for our post-cruise stay in December on a Bounceback offer! I'm excited because it will be DH & me, my parents, and my sister's family in two rooms.

I thought I would share a photo of POR that I just added to my photo gallery that I took while in WDW in October.

If you wish to see a larger version just visit my blog (link in signature).

Hope you like it as much as I do.

Wow what a gorgeous picture! Makes me very excited to try our first stay at POR this month!

Renysmom - One of the best shots of POR I have ever seen. You took your time and set up your shot. Great job!!! I am sure Andre will want this for his site.
