Wow, those pictures make the rooms look so small.

12 more days until we leave for WDW. Tomorrow night our DD4 has a sleep study in Missouri (2 hr drive) then next week we go back to Missouri for DD4 and DS14 to see the neurologist. So, the good news is atleast both my work weeks will be cut short.

Im partially packed, sewed one more dress today and have my shopping list ready. :cool1:

Question - we are scheduled to be in RGR with a garden view but I am wondering do these buildings have elevators in them? Do I need to call and tell them I need ground flood? I have three childre (all ages 3 and under) and will have a double stroller and single stroller. No way can we juggle three kids (who by the way two of them are in special needs school for PT issues) and the strollers doing stairs! My fear is that we get there are stuck doing a few flights of stairs. I have never had a problem requesting a ground floor room before if there was no elevators but with all the remodels, I am now getting nervous!

What an exciting day....I paid off our WDW trip and now I get to see photos of "our ROYAL room" in progress. Thanks Andre! Thanks secret photographer! :goodvibes

Yeah it is truly nice, of this person. I was curious to see the progress ;)

Ah yes, I really appreciate that photographer:worship: Venomhatch. I hope you are having a wonderful trip even though you aren't STAYING at POR! :cool1:

Since we have our deposit made, I am now thinking on what I'll need to pack or buy when we get there.

Two things come to mind right now

1 - do they have spray at the fulton store that you can use in the bathroom for smells:lmao: (like glade brand or such)

2 - is there an exhaust fan in the bathroom? some places we've stayed (not on disney), haven't had one.

Thanks

Tomorrow (27th) will be three months out till we leave :cool1:

Not sure about the spray but they do have an exhaust fan in the bathroom. The freaked me out at first because they are motion controlled and at first I thought they were on a timer. After a few times it thought what the heck is going on here why does the fan come on every time step in here.

Yes the mansions all have elevators they are in the center of the building along with the ice machine.

Our DD4 uses her stroller as a wheel chair and stairs would be a problem for us, so we always let them know when we book, and I call and remind within 7 days of arrival. Only once have we checked in and had an upper level room (we stay in the AB section and no elevators) and as soon as we noticed we told them and our room was changed. No problem.

Yeah I am enjoying our vacation... and I am enjoying my DSLR's first Disney Trip.

Who or what is DSLR? Let me guess, some sort of camera? Anyway, great you are having a great trip.

what is the difference between the water front room and the river front room?? Trying to find the best view for our honeymoon :)

Water View rooms can overlook any of the swimming pools or possibly (if you happen to be lucky) the river. River View guarantees you a view of the Sassagoula River.

Why not book a King Bed room though, and then request a river view in a mansion building? As honeymooners I'm sure the resort would do their very best to accommodate your request.

Ohh it is a camera, you are correct. With my new lens I was able to get really close to the stage in MK from a distance and snap excellent photos of the CMs.

I'm trying to find out if POR has sugar free ice cream at the food court or any sugar free desserts available. Also at the drink station, what are the sugar free options? We're going to be there next week  and my DH recently found out he has diabetes and I'm trying to let him know about some options he'll have while were there.

Thanks for checking

I'd bring your own glade spray, if they do sell it it could be scent you don't like ( my luck), over priced and I'm almost sure I didn't see any in all my trips to WDW. Yes BR's have exhaust fans. Just idea that may help or not help you is I usually bring my glade or airwick nightlight air freshener to resorts, makes rm smell nice, gives us a night light and travels easily. I pack my plug in and than oil bottle in checked luggage, bottle wrapped in plastic bag with screw top still on it, I just keep top to put back on it for trip home.

There are no sugar free ice cream options, but there are diet sodas and teas without sugar and plenty of alternative sweeteners.

This is probably a silly question but we are staying at the POR for the first time based off of the stellar reviews it gets in the dis community. We usually stay at the swan, last trip at the Beach club and have stayed at the pop and CBR in the past.

We currently have a garden view room reserved but I would like to request a room and don't know where to begin. I think the manor buildings sound best but i'm just curious what others prefer and why?

Also, do you think a royal room is going to be geared more towards girls? The photos don't look very gender specific and the LED fireworks look awesome. I have two boys and I would hate to book one of these rooms if we are going to be surrounded by an over the top princess theme.

Since you will be in the mansion section, then yes they do have elevators. The AB section does not. I would still put in a request for a ground floor room if that is what you would rather have, it would help your chances:)

Alot of people say they prefer Alligater Bayou (AB) because its more "secluded" and doesnt have that "hotel" feel to it like Magnolia Bend. The are pics of the RGR's at www.portorleans.org which is an awesome website with lots of info and pics. This will give you a better idea of how the RGR is decorated. I honestly thing your boys would have a better time in AB than they would in MB.

The technical terms are "waterview" and "riverview".

Waterview could be any view of the water, in either a pool, a fountain or a far view of the river (very far). We used to joke, before they added riverview, it could be a view of a really big puddle!

River view means you will have some sort-of view of the river; may be river front (I snagged two years ago) to a view of the river from an upper floor.

Waterview could be any view of the water, in either a pool, a fountain...

With the recent reclassifications, fountains/etc are now meant to come under the Garden View category. Water View should now give you at least a swimming pool full of water, or a river if you are lucky.
