Thanks to everyone just posting!!!!! We are ready to go now minus some more clothes.

One week from today we will be checking into POR for the first time!:banana::cool1::cool1:

Just found out yesterday that my daughter, who is traveling with her school's Disney Club and attending the YES program will be in the same resort. They had requested French Quarter. I'm exciting that they will be there with us so I can keep a close eye on her.:3dglasses

I apologize if the answer to my question is one of these 125 pages, but I was curious about the Cajun Campfire at POR and if it available every evening, certain evenings or seasonal. We are looking to go in September and it was one of the activities that interested me and my family. Thanks!

Heya-
Question for y'all and needing advice... I changed resort rooms to a Royal Room in October from something else, and still do not have an email confirmation after a week. I have the original email confirmation for the original room- when I click on that link, it takes me to a confirmation for the original room. However, when I enter the reservation number online in my Disney account, it pops up the Royal Room reservation.

What I'm worried about is that the original reservation didn't get cancelled, which happened last year, and that the deposit didn't get transferred correctly. I've called about it, and they keep saying they've resent it but I don't have it and I've checked inbox and spam. :confused3

Time to get a supervisor or time to chill? :rotfl:

I'd chill! If it's the same conf # and they have it on their system as Royal room it will be ok.

Have a great stay at Poly! Go to Capt. Cooks and have a Dole Whip for me :goodvibes
You'll have to do what we did in Jan, and go to POR for a fix  We did a no park day and went to POR for lunch- my fav make your own pasta, then walked around POR and then FQ, and took the boat to DTD.

If you're planning another trip in 2012, look for BB offer. We had one in our WL room, and booked for Aug- 35% off deluxe. Right now we have AKL.

Yeah most definitely.

I just booked a one night stay (pre-cruise) and am super excited. Originally, I had booked All Star Music to save a little money but then decided I'd like to try a new moderate (we are CBR fans) even if it was for just one night.

We won't arrive until mid to late afternoon and plan on eating at DTD. The reason I chose POR was for the boat service to and from DTD.

I've decided not to tell my husband or son about the change and will let it be a surprise until I have to take the exit to WDW.

I love POR .... such a relaxing resort. The boat ride to DTD is so much better than a bus ride. :thumbsup2

Don't worry, it's on every evening starting at around dusk - see schedule when you get there.

The boat ride and the breakfast options were the two things that made me change from a value to POR. I also knew that we wouldn't want to book a value stay in the future but might want to go back to POR.

Just got home from a weeklong stay at POR...I fell in love with this resort! We had a refurbed room in Alligator Bayou (bldg 38). It was wonderful!! I will definitely stay here again.

Pixiedustfanatic, what mad you fall in love w/ it?? I've never stayed and I'd love to hear some reasons of why people love it so much.

1. The surroundings were so tranquil, I loved all the trees. It was so lush, it made me feel like I was out in the woods.
2. Ol Man Island pool was great and I'd say the slide was on par with the Grand Floridian.
3. The food court options were great, I loved being able to eat healthy and not be relegated to burgers, pizza, and fried foods. The salads made to order were great.
4. The boat ride to Downtown Disney was wonderful and relaxing.
5. We felt that the transportation was great, and that we were very centrally located. We shared buses with POFQ only part of the time, there was never a problem with timing or seating.
6. We loved the queen beds - we were lucky to get a refurbed room...although I did put that in a request...was happy we got it.
7. The campfire, outdoor movies, carriage rides, fishing hole, boats, and playground offer lots of options for things to do.
8. My son loved all the games in the arcade...it was quite large compared to others.
...much, much, more.

It has so many of the deluxe amenities at a moderate price!

Congratulations! So glad you get to be close to your daughter. I know it would make me feel better! I think you will love POR! There's just something about it! Take time to go for leisurely walks even if it's just to the food court to fill a mug! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc
