Saw your Youtube vids. Nice watching the kids wake to Disney. What building you in?

The Murphy bed is to small for adult so that makes the rooms 4 adult only where with the trundle you could sleep 5 adults. This may now make a big difference for families like ours that had 5 adults in a room. We will have to go to a third room now with the 9 of us or move to another resort which we would not want to do cause POR is our home. Now POR need rooms for 6.

You will never see a change in occupancy at POR, unless a new building is being built. That is the focus of the new AoA resort, to accommodate up to 6 people.

You cannot arbitrarily change the occupancy of an existing building, because the size of the corridors, amounts of stairs and width of aisleways do not accommodate that amount of people in case of an emergency. Room occupancy is based on worst case scenario, if all the rooms were at the highest occupancy, can you still safely exit the building to grade level? Since that will never change, you will never see a room for 6 at POR. The reason you see AB at 5, is because they are only two floors.

Just wanted to share that we have 50 more days! :yay: Room and meal plan paid for, plane tickets bought, park tickets bought and $600 in DW GC's that we received for Christmas! Now all that is left is to rent a car. So excited! :yay: Don't you love it when you start getting though paying for everything.
We check in to a Royal room on the 10th, unless it gets pushed back again. So far no phone calls for me. ;)

Whoo hoo :cheer2:! Love it when everything comes together & its all paid off! Cant wait to hear reports about the royal rooms. We have 62 more days....we are paying the whole package off as soon as our tax returns check gets deposited. My father in law generously gave us his southwest airline points....he had enough for 3 round trip tickets.

Congrats on the airline tickets. I am now broke after getting ours. :scared1: :rotfl: Have a great trip!

Have you tried taking an air mattress? They are more comfortable then the trundle and can be leaned up against the wall when not in use. We have used one a couple of times.

They are trying to go after one issue but we as the people feel the gov, would take this new power and attempt to censor the internet for everyone.

Back to POR...

I've been wanting to get your advice about cameras:). I just got my first SLR, a cannon rebel. It's the one that retails for about 600. It came with one lens that doesn't zoom too far. For Disney what do you think I need? On the cheaper side since I'm still learning. Also how do you carry yours?

Pm me the exact model and info, so we don't get off topic in here lol. I would be more than happy to help you with this.

Sounds great, I love trying to get available-light photos inside the darker areas at Disney - also outdoor shots at night can be fabulous, especially Epcot late on EMH nights.

Could you ask your DH if he could get some close-up pictures of the details in the new AB room if you get a chance? Stuff like the decor, fixtures and fittings, writing on the various faux-packaging items like the sink support plinth, the murphy bed unit 'crates', etc.

PhotoBucket is a good and quick place for now, but it does have bandwidth limits per user; we've seen several people who've posted popular new photo sets from Port Orleans which quickly ended up exceeding the data-limit. Once you're back (or now if you like?) if you want I can host them directly on portorleans.org in a Gallery for you, where there are no data limits and you can still easily insert them into your DIS posts, etc. Several other DISers have done this and it stops their pictures disappearing from posts after a while - let me know if you'd like me to do that and I'll let you know how you can send them.

By the way, how's the new in-room Wi-Fi at POR (I assume you're using it)? Have you found it reliable, and how fast does it seem (www.speedtest.net will give you some test results if you want to try it sometime). Some people so far have been saying it seems a lot faster in the common areas (such as the main building) than it is in the rooms. I think they've even provided wi-fi at the main feature pool on Ol' Man Island too; I love the idea of sitting out by the pool with a nice cool drink while DD is swimming and posting POR news. :)

Yeah, DH said no problem on the pictures! Just PM me how I can get them to you for the .org site and I will go ahead and set up a photo bucket now too. The speed we have in room is 1 down and .25 up :rotfl2::lmao:
Probably fine for most, but DH and I are used to streaming live video (streaming UP like for UStream and Stickam) as part of his job, so those speeds make me giggle!

We will actually be hitting the parks today so I am sure I will have some pics to post soon. Right now I'm still recovering from the Outlets. Oh, and this little note is for the ladies on the thread...... I bought my first Coach bag yesterday! It was marked down 3 times from retail and then 50% off of that.....THEN THEY MARKED THE FINAL RED PRICE WRONG!!!!!!!! I bought 3 of the same bag because they were all marked incorrectly :lmao::lmao: So Christmas for MIL and SIL 2012 is checked off the list. :thumbsup2

That's three people who have reported approximately the same 1Mb down / 0.25 up, so it looks like connections may have been capped at that - possibly to avoid individual users clogging up the whole system? As you say, it's not nearly fast enough for decent streaming video out - but perhaps that's the point? It'd be interesting to know what you get near the pool, or in the main building, though?

I'll PM you FTP details for photos.

Have fun at the parks!

Andre

Our customized maps came in the mail today :yay: They are really nice...almost too nice to use lol But they would make a nice scrapbook item.

Off topic: I am a lover of Coach..did they have a good outlet store there and I would love to see a picture and price of the deal you got. PM me
