Help! Need info on Port Orleans. I know that Port Orleand and Dixie Landings had merged together but I'm totally unfamiliar with this resort. Where would you request to stay, how nice is the resort and what does it have to offer?? Any comments or suggestions would be a big help. Thanks!

I loved staying at this resort. We stayed here for part of our trip back in 2000. The rooms were very quaint, perfect for two or three people. I liked the close proximity to DTD - we took the boat to get there, as we did not have a car. Felt the bus service was fine. i thought it seemed more quite and serene than some of the other ones I have stayed at. Would recommend it. Sorry did not get a chance to use the pool. Have a great trip!

We stayed in Bldg 5 in the old PO (now POFQ), pool side, and loved it.

We stayed at the Dixie Landings Resort in 2000 and again under the new name Port Orleans Riverside in 2002. POR is the only moderate that accomodates our family of five in one room. We have stayed in both the Mansions and the Alligator Bayou areas. POR has several quiet pools near to the buildings and one larger central pool nearer to the main building. We also swam in the POFQ pool, since our kids liked the look of the slide. Depending on which building you get, POR can seem awfully large, especially when walking to the food court early in the morning or after a full day at the parks. We enjoyed the theming and the relaxing atmosphere. In 2002 we were far from the main building, but close to a quiet pool and a bus stop. The transportation service was very good and we used it exclusively during both trips.
