I just returned from Port Orleans Riverside and Coronado Springs. Feb 12-19. I asked to be moved to Coronado ( or anywhere else ) after finding Port Orleans to be dirty - not just room but grounds. litter and cig.butts all along walkways and around pools. Food court was a mess! everyday, at all times of day. Coronado, which I did not choose orginally because I thought I would prefer the theming of Riverside, was clean. Pool was clean, bar and snack bar were up and running, there was an arcade for the kids beside the main pool and in the main building. The food court was organized and also clean. The main rest. was also very good. I wish I had moved much sooner. I was so upset at my first resort choice that it put a cloud on the trip in general. Maybe things will improve by the time of your stay but I would not risk spending the money there until I made sure. I travel a lot. Disney four times in the last two years. I would stay at all stars or off site if POR was my only option. First time I have ever been disappointed in a disney resort. I even liked All stars.

Have a nice vacation.

We also just returned from Port Orlens Riverside(Feb3rd to Feb.17)Yes we did find the food court very unorganized ,you could tell the employees were training. My husband had a breakfast free because the cashier did not know how to ring up his order. We encountered many long waits in the food court to have our order wrong.Talking to other cast members all around disney we found out they were pulling workers from all over to staff the resort! So service was lacking.Houskeeping was hit or miss depending who did your room(no clean glasses left in room) and if you wanted extras I would leave a tip with a note or we would not get it.I tried calling housekeeping and what we requested would not show up or there would be no answer( I was determined one night to get through and gave up after being on hold for over an hour)When we were there the resort went from being partially open to almost every buiding being used .I had been in touch with the resort 2 weeks before we left and they did not think the mansions would be open, but they were,so I think they were not prepared and could not staff the resort properly. So if you have other options you may want to consider them and maybe visit the resort to see it for a future visit.

Thanks for the responses. It's hard to believe a Disney Resort could be run that way. I would imagine they would get that correct rather quickly. I'll probably stay clear of the PO though. The pictures were so enticing. I lived in New Orleans and I was still impressed by the pictures. Looks like it's down to two. Leaning toward CBR right now. Thanks for the info!

Sorry to hear such negative experiences about the Port Orleans. We stayed there in June and could not have asked for cleaner grounds, better housekeeping, or better food court service. All was great!

Sorry to hear about the negative experiences. When we were there earlier this month we found it to me immaculate. Granted at that time only a small portion of the guest rooms were in use, but I did not find any of the services to be diminished. One side of the drink station at the food court was roped off and not in use but as there was never more than a few guest in the food court at one time it was adequate. POR is my new favorite resort! Please don't let the bad experiences of a few cloud your decision. It is truly a remarkable resort and should be experienced by everyone at least once. I had my heart set on staying at POFQ but as that resort was closed entirely I choose to stay at POR. I then had my heart set on staying in one of the mansion building but as they were not operational on my trip I ended up staying in a corner room in the alligator bayou with a fantastic view. My final room was not what I had initially hoped for but yet it turned out to be exactly perfect!

I just came back from my trip to Port Orleans today. I was in the Alligator section, building 14, and was very embarrassed about how dirty the grounds was around that building! After a day, I asked the store for a big bag and picked up a soda bottle half filled with butts, a wire hanger and a food tray! I handed it in the manager at the check-in desk. She wrote down my comments. The next day it was still dirty so I called from an outside phone. Today, it was still a lot of litter! I would think it is the easiest thing to get someone to walk around and pick up trash! I plan on writing to someone about this.
