Hi, My Family and I are most likely staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter (Although, we have yet to rule out the Wilderness Lodge, though it's unlikely). Anyways, we want to know if when going to every park, does the French Quarter stop at the Riverside? We read that it does and that the Riverside has about quite a few bus stops. It's not something that would hinder our stay at the French Quarter but we are just curious about buses being crowded and what not. Thank you.

Some times the bus stops at Riverside after picking up French Quarter. This varies. For us in all of our stays at POFQ we have only shared the bus twice with Riverside.

Not always. It depends on a lot of things such as time of year, and time of day.

Only at slow times, not in the mornings or at night. When we stayed at French quarter, we only shared once mid afternoon, and from downtown Disney. There are four stops at POR, so it takes a few minutes, but I believe when coming back from the parks, IF you share, I remember stopping at FQ first. From downtown I think it was after POR. But you can take the boat also. We dtove to the parks this past trip, but saw a bus one time coming from FQ to pick up POR people in the evening.

I just stayed at Riverside May 1st through May 5th and the only time buses were shared with French Quarter was in the middle of the day.

The morning park opening and evening park closings both resorts had their own buses.

We love POFQ !

Last Dec when we were there we too only shared the POR bus once maybe twice.

Easy peasy....no issues at all! Enjoy your trip. :goodvibes

  • The early breakfast buses (until about 1 hour before park openings) are shared.
  • From then until around 11 a.m. or noon, most park buses are not shared.
  • After about noon, MK buses still are not shared, but buses for the other 3 parks mostly are.
  • DTD buses are shared all day.
When buses are shared, it usually takes about 10 minutes from the time a bus leaves FQ to make all the RS stops and exit the resort.

DTD buses run opposite to the park buses, making all the RS stops first, and then stopping at FQ.

Don't forget you also have boat service to DTD, and between FQ & RS.

I just got back from POFQ afew days ago.

We used the buses every day we were on site. We only shared with Riverside on a handful of occasions. One was on the way to HS and was at about 8:30pm, the others were on the way home from the parks in the mid afternoon. On these occasions they dropped off/ picked up at POFQ first.

Have an amazing stay. I loved it there and would go back tomorrow if I could.

Chiming in to say I loved POFQ (stayed for the first time this year), and what pp have described was my experience, too. This was a lower-crowd season in February, but my bus experience was good at POFQ.

I loved Port Orleans on our 2013 trip, so much so that we are going again in 2015. We did POFQ last year and will be trying POR next year. Never had any trouble with transport. On the day we went to HS I had trouble with my contact lenses so had to pop back in the middle of the day- I was there and back within an hour. A couple of times we got a riverside bus and walked through - lovely walk on a night time. I couldn't fault any part of it.

I stayed at POFQ in 2007, so I'm not sure how relevant my experience is, but I'll throw it out there.

We went over spring break, the last week of March (DH used to be a teacher). We shared with POR frequently. However, we were always the first picked up and dropped off.
