I'm just off the phone with Disney UK after I couldn't get a quote of the internet for PO since there are 5 of us. The CM has told me that they are no longer offering the rooms that sleep 5 anymore in PO.

It's not just that my dates are booked up, she says that disney have just stopped it:confused3 .

Anyone else heard of this.

We were planning staying there as it is the cheapest option for us and as we weren't meant to be going back this year we are trying it on a budget.

So not sure what to do now though as FW cabins and BC and more or less the same price but still dearer than what we were hoping to pay for PO.

I was just on the disney US site and it will let me book PO for 5 people:confused3 :confused3 . It just works out too dear to book it in $$$$.

So it seems it is just the disney UK that won't let it

Try phoning again and speak to a different cm - you might get a different answer - if they say no say you can on the us site.

I read the hotel forum pages on here and I've not seen anyone saying you cant have 5 people in AB POR rooms.

PO French Quarter only sleeps a max of 4 plus one child in a crib (travel cot)
Riverside had the trundle beds (underneath one of the main beds which could be pulled out pushed under) but not in all rooms from what I read on the site and in the brochures. Perhaps they have either all been removed for refurbishment or all those rooms are booked up already:confused3
Perhaps the fire safety regulations have changed for the hotel or just the area in general.

Disappointing news if this is the case. Would have liked to consider PO for a future trip :sad1:

How old is the youngest person. in my brochure it says that POR (AB) will accomodate 5 people, providing the 5th person is under 9yrs.
We are staying at POR in sept, and there are 5 of us.

Been on the phone again and a different CM but still no go.

Apparently there were lots of complaints about the trundle bed about it not being big enough or not comfy so they are removing them from all the rooms to keep customer satisfaction high.
I said you can book it on US site but CM said that it will be removed from there soon.

Don't know what will happen if you already have a room booked for 5:confused3 :confused3 .

Now do I go for 2 rooms in pop, a cabin at FW or 1 room at BC

okay now i'm worried (especially seeing as we haven't paid in full yet).
i don't know whether to phone them, or just keep quiet. surely they have to honour existing bookings. i'd still be happy to take the trundle

I'm going to phone up again and speak to a supervisor as I want to know for sure. We plan to go in July and people have bookings for much later than that so just want to be sure before I book a dearer alternative

All Star Music can sleep up to six I think, or maybe the Fort Wilderness Campground cabins may be more suitable let us know how you get on.

Just off the phone again and was told the same not letting the rooms have 5 anymore.

So asked about people that already have bookings and was told they will still be ok and will get the trundle. SO I told a few white lies:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 and said we wanted that resort as our friends were staying there too. So the CM puts me on hold for ages and comes back saying she has permission to over ride it. She can book 4 in and then go back and add another:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 .

BUT now I'm not sure:confused3 :confused3 it is only £150 more to have 2 rooms at pop which is 2 bathrooms which is always a bonus.

We stayed at the cabins last year and loved them but were just looking for something a bit cheaper

in the current ecconomy this seems like madness, most people will just go to eqiv price good hotels in DTD or near that take 5, it instead of booking the poly or other WDW hotels that are more expensive, surely better to allow people to book but highlight that room will be tight.

:confused3

Hi,
we are staying at riverside in July 09 for 3 weeks, 5 of us in one room. Kids aged 12, 10 and 5. Its the cheapest onsite that takes us all in one room. We stayed there in 07 too. First time we booked with Virgin, but this time round they wernt allowed 5 sleeping rooms!??!?!?

We have booked with disney.co.uk this time, on line and it worked fine, paying £1911.00 for the room. You have to be careful tho, when we were booking, It did allow me to put us all in one room at Carib Beach, but I called to check and they said it was wrong. Not sure what would have happened if I had booked it.

Anyway, I am rambling.

Good luck sorting it

Steve

Having two rooms at a value with an interconnecting door could work better for you in the long run, even if it's a little more money at least your sanity will thank you at the end of your trip.
For those of you who have already booked at POR it looks like WDW will honour the booking so try not to stress about it. Lets hope they point out the changes to future guests.

I just called the resort (OK, the call center people) and after a little persuasion managed to get an answer passed on from the Office Operations Manager directly at Riverside who said (quote) "there is no way that they are going to get rid of the trundle beds".

Of course sometimes these things get decided at even higher levels, but for now I'd put more trust in that response than in an operator at the UK reservations center. I suspect it's more likely a UK-thing to simplify their procedures, but with Disney nothing is ever set in stone - apart from Arthur's sword, anyway. :)
