So, I've been lurking on Disboards since June planning away for my birthday trip this October. It has been such a wondeful resource.

We (DBF and I) had Oct 2nd-5th squared away for a long weekend trip. Due to school schedules being released and a college chem lab's no missing class for any reason policy, our dates got moved back by a day as not to miss the Monday lab. So we'll be at Disney the 1st-4th now! Throughout my planning I've read every single page of the most recent CBR thread trying to absorb as much as I could about the resort. Given the shift in dates, I was informed that CBR is not available for the 1st-4th of October. A really awesome cast member helped me find a room at POFQ for our new dates at virtually the same price. I'm not too attached to where we stay. I'm just really thankful it's in our budget to go in a few weeks.

The only thing left to do is find new Fast Pass times for the 2nd and get familiar with our new resort! The only time I've stayed on site was at Pop as a small child, so this will be a really neat experience. Of course I'll be scrolling through the pages and pages on POFQ over the next few weeks. But if anyone feels inclined to share their love of the POFQ or a few tips about the resort, I would be happy to read 'em! :earsboy:

Congratulations that you will be able to still go and stay at an awesome resort. I've stayed at both POR and CBR and loved them both. My morning at POR started with a walk to POFQ to get coffee and beignets while the sleepheads stayed in bed -- they never found out about those little bags of goodness! POFQ is an awesome resort because it is small and quiet -- you will have a great time!

POFQ was our first stay on property. We've since stayed at a deluxe, a value and another moderate. We like trying new places but we would gladly go back to POFQ someday. It's beautiful and we absolutely loved it. I would only rank it below our stay at WL. Have fun!

If you can fit it into your schedule, head over to POR and check out Yehaa Bob!

You can read the POR resort thread here or you can also visit portorleans dot org website that is an amazing resource for POR and POFQ. Have a wonderful trip!

POFQ is amazing. I highly recommend it. I really enjoy the size of the resort, it's quite a bit smaller than all the others. The resort grounds are beautiful and we really enjoy the bus service to DTD. You can't go wrong staying there!

I stayed here and can recommend POR.

Personally, and this is solely a personal preference; I'd choose POR over POFQ. I like the layout and rooms better and ease of room access more at POR.

Good place and quiet.

We have stayed at POFQ over a dozen times you will love it. The boat ride to DTD is great. Make sure you say hi to Shelly at the pool bar.

POFQ is a great resort. One bus stop and if you are going early to a park or coming back at closing they usually don't share with POR (except for MK were both have their own buses)You can walk up to POR to use their pools or checkout Yeeha Bob at the River Roost. If you want to checkout DTD the boat ride is a great perk. And if Shelly at the pool bar is one of the best bartenders we have ever had.

POFQ is our "home" resort as you will. It is very nice. POR is very nice also but we like the size of POFQ better.
I think that you will really enjoy POFQ.

Enjoy your trip and good luck on your exams. :)

Have stayed at POR numerous times. We are staying at FQ in October. I have always wanted to stay here, so I am super excited. Enjoy your trip :)

I will share my love of POFQ! Pretty, quaint and charming, and small enough nothing is too far from food, transport or pool. "Sister" resort to POR so you can use their pools too. Boat to DTD which beats the DTD bus woes.

How small is POFQ? Small enough there's no "preferred room" category 'cause they don't need it. I'm going for my 4th stay next year and not even making room requests. Eager to see where they put me.

Don't forget the beignets!

POFQ is an amazing resort! Beautiful grounds, nice CMs, and a compact resort! There is an unofficial website out there that has great info with maps, pictures, and the history of the resort.
