anyone know when the french quarter will be opening and what all they are doing durring the rehab we cant wai to stay there again

When they closed in May (2003) I think i saw that the renovations will last 2 years:mad:

Is the whole resort taking two years or it it one year for POFQ and then one year for POR? Two years for one resort seems awfully long.

It has been rumored that POFQ will be opening sometime next year. Not sure what month though.

I have heard lots of rumours about POFQ. I had been told that they were shut down for rehab and would not be back on line until an undisclosed date. I called CRO and learned from a CM that the rehab will last at least 2 years. I saw another post or two that had the same quote from a CM. I do not believe that it took two years to build the place. I have heard that due to demand and the fact that the renovation was ahead of schedule they would have the place back on line sooner than expected and that it may be available early next year. I have heard that when it re-opens it will be something different than POFQ. That they are changing the entire theme of the resort. What is true? Who knows. I was not sure and I am still unsure if POR is in the rehab schedule or that it will follow POFQ. I think this is also just a rumour.

Just back from Riverside and the boat driver to DTD told us that it looks great over there. (He did not say when it was opening). He said they are totally redoing it including new bath tile, carpets, etc. He also said they are putting in a ton of hidden mickeys.
Sounds exciting!

I just got back yesterday. We took the boat from POr to DTD and the driver said the estimates on FQ reopening were anywhere from December of this year to next summer. She did say that one of the buildings facing the river had already been completed and it looked spectacular.

From what I had heard, the POFQ should take less than one year. I had heard rumors that it would be finished early next year. Then certain portions of PO-R will close and be renovated. One section at a time. I had heard that the two years involved all of Port Orleans ..... French Quarter and Riverside.
