For those of you on these boards who have stayed at POFQ in the last year or so what are the good and bad about this resort? Buses, rooms, food etc. No resort is perfect or all bad looking for honest critic of POFQ.
Thanks in advance!

Best factor is the size. Everything's like 3 to 5 minutes away. I wasn't in a refurbished room so I can't exactly state what the new rooms are like. I also like the boat to Disney Springs. The little kid splash area was awesome for my toddler.

We literally just got back. We loved it. The size was awesome. The refurbed rooms were good. Loved stowing suitcases under the beds. I was worried about overhead noise from the laminate floors, but that wasn’t an issue. Food court was good. The pool was great and never overly packed. I have no real complaints. Occasionally we waited a while for a bus from a park, but usually because we had just missed one.

Stayed in December. Room was clean (not yet re-furnished). The resort is nicely themed. Everything at the resort is a short walk away. Short boat ride to Riverside and Disney Springs. The food court never seemed overly crowded and the food was good. About 10 minute walk to Riverside. Longest wait for a bus was about 20 minutes.

We stayed at Riverside last year in the princess rooms, but found ourselves at French Quarter more than we ever thought we would. Yeah, we didn't stay in any rooms there, so I can't comment about that, but we did a lot of our eating, swimming, and transportation from there.
What we loved was:
1) The pool. Great themed, never crowded, and fun. My son (5) loved the kids splash area.
2) Coke freestyle machines.
3) How peaceful and quiet it was. Walking along the river and then through the building walkways was so enjoyable for us, my wife suggested that we stay here in the future.
4) The transportation. The boat to Disney Springs is the last to be picked up and the first to be dropped off. But for us, we boarded at Riverside, then waited, then it went to French Quarter, then waited, before heading over to DS. If we had just boarded at FQ, it would have saved us 15 minutes.
In regards to the busses, our 4 stop bus stop at Riverside was not cool. I often found myself saying "if we just stayed at FQ, we would be back in our room by now".

The only thing we didn't like, was how difficult it was for us to find chairs in the pool area. It was a struggle every time we went there.

French Quarter is our absolute favorite resort! We would go back every time if we weren't trying new hotels each time. We like the small size, quiet atmosphere/theming, boat to DS, walking paths along the river, and getting to use the amenities at Riverside. The only thing we didn't really like was not having lines at the bus stop, but that really wasn't a big problem. I would easily stay at POFQ every time!

We haven't stayed but when i was looking at the resorts, one of the cons that i thought of was the exterior doors and having to walk outside to get to your room.

Shouldn't be a problem if the weather is good but if not, i am not sure if there is a covered way all the way back to the main lobby.

Having said that you would have to move up to Deluxe in order to avoid this issue.

As far as the corridors, it all depends, I like outside doors better than hallways, so it's a plus for me. With FQ being so small, even if it is raining, it's not hard to get under cover fast.

FQ is a fam favorite resort so there's not really any cons that we notice much. The only thing I can think of is the buses from the park can take awhile to show up depending on how you time it.

Maybe, maybe not.
Have a look at Poly or GF. You may have indoor doors but you have individual buildings with no covered walkways to get from building to building. At GF only CL rooms are in the main building and at Poly no rooms are in the main building. At CR, some rooms are in the main building, some are in a separate one. So even Deluxe doesn't mean you are free from walking in rain.

Personally, I think the food options are lacking. This never really bothers us as we already have our food scoped out for the week at the various resorts throughout property. I love POFQ if you can get it at the right price.

I agree about the food options, but we just hop the boat to DS and have unlimited options there.

Love this hotel. Actually staying again this fall. The size is fantastic. I love that everything is centrally located and it doesn't take a 15-20 min walk to get somewhere. Last time I was there was during the busy Christmas season and it was still calm and relaxing. I enjoy the food in the food court though I do agree that the beignets are not the best but that may be because I compare them too much to ones in New Orleans. If you've never had them there then you'll likely enjoy them.

Exactly. I determined the people that rave about them surely haven't had them around New Orleans
