Hi everyone!!

This December I am having a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding & most of my guests will be staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. Now, I have never stayed there and wanted to know what building or rooms should be requested to be closest to the bus stop? Are they any close to the bus stop with a view of the river? My father has been having knee problems and would like both close to the bus stop & 1st floor if possible. Right now they are booked standard view but I am having it noted on my ressie that those guests are here for a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding & maybe if they are lucky they can get an upgrade to water view.

Also, wanted to make sure that right now there are coffee pots and refrigerators in all the rooms? Most of my guests will drink the coffee & all of them will be coming back to their room with cake from the reception so, they will need a refrigerator. Should I have these things noted on my ressie?

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks gang, Have A Disney Day!!!

Each room contains a coffee pot and a frig. Housekeeping brought us coffee filters each day with packets of sugar, powdered creamer etc. I brought my own coffee though, Maxwell house coffee filters and I bought a container of milk and kept it in the frig.
POFQ is a small resort, very nicely laid out. I would say that if you want a riverview room you maybe in one of the buildings that would be furthest from the bus stop. from looking at the map on Deb Wills site buildings 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 all have river views, but the rooms are at the back of these buildings.
I've stayed in buildings 3 and 5, both nice locations, not far from the main building and the bus stop. In building 5 we faced the courtyard where the main pool is and it was just a few steps from the main building.

When are you having your wedding in December? I am also getting married on December 3, 2005. We will be there from December 2-6th. We are staying at Port Orleans - Riverside, but all of our guests and family will be at both riverside and French quarter..... maybe we will run into one another...

We stayed at POFQ in Nov 04 in Building 4. We were steps away from the bus stop and had a beautiful view of a courtyard. We were on the first floor and were also steps away from the food court. I would recommend the room we stayed in - 4131. VERY convenient to everything. I don't believe you would have a riverview room that was also close to the bus stop. However, the resort is small and is easy to get around. I know your guests will not be disappointed with this resort - it is beautiful  !!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Thanks for the congrats everyone! Congrats to you too mishtb! I am getting married on the 7th. But we are arriving on the 5th. My fiance & I are staying at the grand floridian for the first time ever. I am so very excited. I can hardly wait. Good luck with everything. PM me if you ever wanna talk wedding!

Thanks for all the info everyone!!

We've stayed at the POFQ too many times to count. If you are looking for close to bus stop and food court then the waterview is not what you want. Also, keep in mind that in order to take full advantage of the water view that you have to walk outside to the outside corridor. There are no room balconies here for you to sit out on and enjoy the river. Depending on the trees and foliage you might be able to see the river from your room, but if you are on the top floor it can be obstructed by the trees.

The courtyard view is very nice, though. In that case, the closest buildings would be bldg. 4 and 5. Some parts of bldg 6 aren't bad ... just depends on what side you are on.

Since the renovation ... all rooms have hair dryers, a frig, coffee pots and the things that go with the coffee pots (we aren't coffee drinkers).

Congrats on the wedding. We will be there starting Thanksgiving Day until Sunday after before moving over to the AKL. We are on the other end of the spectrum and will be celebrating our 24th anniversary with our 7 yr old DS.

I'm sure your wedding will be magical. Best wishes.

We stayed in Bldg 5 at POFQ and felt we were close to everything - Food Court, Bus Stop and Pool. We also had a River view.
Congratulations on your wedding, I sure you and your guests will have a Magical time.

Thank you everyone for all your help and your kind wishes. It is very much appreciated. It is nice to have some pixie dust thrown my way. Congrats to you too cjsmom5 for 24 years of marriage. Hope I will be celebrating my 24th anniversary in WDW, what better way to do it!!!

Have A Disney Day Everyone!!!

Congrats to all getting married and all celebrating anniveraries. We will be there in Feb 2006, celebrating my DD's 7th birthday, my In-laws 41st anniversary and the marriage of my B-I-L (they eloped 2 months ago, this will be their honeymoon - gift from DH and me and my In-Laws). We stayed at POFQ last Feb and we are staying there again. DMIL has a hard time walking and we feel that this resort is the best one for her because of its small size. Every thing is in close proximity (sp?) to the main building so there are really no long distances to walk. There's even a boat to DTD and POR if your guests want to travel around and not have to go to a park.

Congrats to all those getting married!!!! We stayed at POFQ last year, and it was really nice. We enjoyed it, I know your guest will love it.

Best Wishes!!
