I just returned from a 6 night stay at POFQ, this was the first time we stayed there. The rooms were wonderful the grounds were beautiful and the resort is small so you don’t feel like you have to hike to get back to the main building or the food court.

We checked in and were told our room was ready we were in building 3 room 3210, we went to the room it had not been cleaned, I had ordered flowers for my DD who had just turned 18, they were being delivered the same time we got to the room, the guy said oh no this room isn’t ready, he called the desk and they moved us to room 3240 which was a handicap accessible room but did have a regular tub. The bathroom was huge. We didn’t hear much of anything at night, until the last 2 nights when I guess someone checked into the next room and they really liked to bang on their own door and talk very loud.

The buses I have to say were very inconsistent, on our first day there we waited 40 minutes for a bus to Epcot after waiting that long we decided to board a bus to the MK and jumped on a monorail to Epcot, we got there the same time a guy that had been waiting at the resort for a bus with us. He must have waited right at an hour for a bus to Epcot.
Another evening we waited for a bus from DTD for 45 min. I spoke with the front desk about this and he said that buses to DTD do have usually 40 minute waits. We had ridden the boat down and wanted to change it up so we took the bus back from DTD. Oh how I wish we would’ve just taken the boat back.

The food in the food court was good, not a lot to write home about. 2 things that I did enjoy was the beignets :love:and the collard greens.

We loved the pool, I even went down the slide. :woohoo:

I will defiantly stay here again.

Can someone tell me how deep the pool gets at POFQ? I can't seem to find detailed info about the pool, but I have founds lots of pictures. For those who have stayed at WL, how do you think the POFQ pool compares?

Here at POFQ! The room is beautiful. Nice and clean. Caught the boat to DTD for lunch at T-Rex. We are having so much fun! We are off to MK!

Welcome Back

Thanks for your honest review :goodvibes

We stopped by FQ today for a beignet. YUM! The cm told me to pay for them first and she would ring the bell when they were ready.

Does POFQ do anything special during the Christmas season? Just trying to make sure we don't skip anything we absolutely must do...

Well they must since a few years ago Disney put out that commercial and the little girl said that the baby brother was a souvenir.

I can safely say that I won't be bringing home a similar souvenir on our September trip. Chuckles - thanks to all the people who posted about the moving beds.

I tip $1 or $2 per person per day, and leave a daily envelope for Mousekeeping. You have picked a great resort!!

We just added three more nights to our POFQ visit so I have another question. Do you leave a "Mousekeeping Tip" daily or do it at the end on your last day?

We have only camped at the Fort so we didn't have to do "Mousekeeping" tips.

Thanks for the info.
Allison

Allison, my perspective on this is that we leave a tip each morning, as we don't know if the mousekeeper will be the same throughout the duration of our stay. Happy Planning.

There isn't an actual guest-released one available, but I do have full layouts for each of the buildings at Port Orleans with room numbers listed.

If anyone here is really good with Illustrator or CAD software and architectural-type stuff, would they maybe like to volunteer to help make some neater more presentable versions from it that we can share with everyone? I could do it, but I'm sure it'd take me ages!

Andre

I wish I could help out here, yet I am a technical neanderthal. Thanks for all the great information you provide, it is such a joy for me as I wait in a holding pattern until our next Disney vacation.

We always have left a daily tip for mousekeeping for the same reason. Check out this handy site to print off cute mousekeeping envelopes before you leave for the world......
http://www.themouseforless.com/downloads/trip/mousekeeping.shtml

We have always done this....just something cute to get in the Disney spirit!

Thank you for sharing this information. I am printing the envelopes now - what a great idea. I'm actually smiling while I print them. In all the years I've been on the boards, I never knew about this site and the wonderful graphics.

I know I read about this somewhere on the boards but I am wondering how I request that our comforter and pillow cases, etc. be washed before we arrive. I have allergies but they aren't so severe a regular cleaning won't sufice...I just want to make sure there isn't dust or other people's perfumes on the comforter/bed that can trigger them. If I understand correctly, the resorts only wash the sheets & blankets between guests right?

We are in building 2 right next to the lobby and pool. We love it. We just came back from MK. We are exhausted after flying in on a red eye.
