It is official....POFQ is our resort for the upcoming trip!!

It is booked (wish it was fully paid for...lol) and set to go.

The only thing I was disappointed in, well in one way, is we had to book a king room. We wanted just a standard (as it is cheaper and we are POP people trying to keep cost down).
I had checked the night before I booked and it was a go for the standard. Then when I went to book the next day, low and behold all that was left was kings and river view rooms!! Over a $100 more!! UGH.

But I am headed to Disney again and that can't be a sad thing. AM hoping and praying for a PIN code or a discount of some kind!!

Hope we like POFQ. It seems like a cute little resort.

The beignets are made to order and it takes maybe 5 minutes. We usually would split up and have 1 person order food and the other desserts and the timing usually worked out. You do usually have to stick around while they cook the beignets or someone may grab them ;(

That's right -- If you aren't there when your beignets are put up, someone may just come along and think they are there for the taking. So wait for your beignets.

I am paid in FULL as of today! Whoohoo! Though I am putting it on the Disney Visa, I have all the cash to pay it off.

Don't give up! You might get lucky and a standard will open up...keep checking!

It has been a few years since our last trip to POFQ. As I recall, they used to have the best sweet potato chips in the food court. Does anyone know if they still do?

This is one of the most valuable nuggets of information I've learned on this thread! We're going to have dd be the Official Beignet Go-Getter while the rest of us get entrees.

We already have plans for a value resort, but DH said we could change to POFQ if we get a discount. I want to find out everything that's changed since we went almost 10 years ago on our Disneymoon!

Ahhhh! I'm so excited!! Only a few more days. I am also very much looking forward to experiencing POFQ for the first time!

Ah! That would be wonderful! I'd love to meet another DISer I'll be sure to wear a neon green mickey head I'm also planning on decorating our window with a homemade garland of neon green mickey heads!

4 weeks from right now, I will on a plane somewhere over Tennessee, I believe...can't wait.

Question about the pools...my pool here is like 85 degrees because of how hot it is in MI right and it's not very refreshing. Does anyone know if Disney keeps their pools cooler in the summer, since they heat them in the winter?

We are planning to do a small order with garden grocer. If we aren't there when our order is delivered, will they hold it at the front desk for us? I am confident they will but a friend that is going with me didn't see anything about delivery to POFQ on the grocer website. She is under the impression that you might have to be there when the order is delivered.

Yes, bell services will hold the order for you. When you go back to your room, call bell services and they will bring the food to your room.

We will be staying at POFQ in November before our Disney Dream Cruise. At first it was just one night but we are now going to be able to stay 4 nights.

I read the thread at the top about shipping packages to the resort but I didn't see any information on shipping an item home. Since we are flying to Orlando and then getting on the cruise I don't want to have a lot of extra stuff. I would like to send home somethings before we get on the boat. What's the best way to do this?

We've done this many times from Pop...we have everything sent to the resort and then ship everything home at once. It actually saves many on shipping rather than doing it individually at the different stores. We did ship from the Poly in May. BUT, it cost $$$ because it's UPS and not USPS. We also forgot a Tink nightgown at POP my daughter cannot live without. They charged me over $27 just for shipment for something I already owned! O.K., they shipped in Canada, but still......

So if you don't mind paying, like for me it was cheaper to have it shipped than to take the plane to get it back , you can do it from the resort.

If you ship park or resort merchandise from the gift shop, the shipping cost is determined by the total price of the merchandise.

When I realized our next trip was 2013 and not 2014, I forgot to redo my timer. Well, I just did: it's now only 831 days and not, 1200 days or so! Wow, life is good

And with this post, (#251) I finally am more than half way to my next title after "Mousketeer" on the Board! "Dis Veteran" cannot come fast enough...
