Sorry about your luck with the blisters and boil. Hopefully they will heal up quickly! Hope you were able to do your balloon release of other tribute in a way that was meaningful to your family.

Do you remember your room #? This is exactly the type of room I am interested in. I like bldg 6 or 7 since I like to go over to the foodcourt at POR.

Not the poster you were asking, but I can tell you our room number in Building 6 -- it was 6323. Corner room, king bed, nice river view. We had the equivalent room in Building 5 the year before. Great rooms and location as far as we were concerned.

I personally would reconsider using the coffee maker in your hotel room. I don't know if you have heard what people do to coffee makers in hotel rooms. I'll just leave it to your imagination. I know it is Disney and why would any one DARE to do something vile to a DISNEY coffee maker....Just sayin.....

Oh my. I do tend to be naive; but being a chemist/microbiologist by trade - I think I catch your drift. I am probably imagining worse than you intended.

LOL so far the ickiest thing I've heard so far is the hot dogs. I like hot dogs but the idea of making them in the coffee pot icks me out. However we do use the coffee pots we just make sure to clean them and any non disposable cups really well first.

When we were at WDW in 1999, they delivered gifts and souvenirs to your room (And it was usually the same day if your bought early enough). It was a really nice perk. It was always nice to come back to your room at the end of a long day and find all your goodies waiting there for you. Sad they don't still do that.

Was that at POFQ? I know I've experienced that when staying club level at other resorts, but never in a non-club level room. Cool!

I bought a shirt at DHS and they said they could send it back to my room but it wouldn't be there until the next day. I picked it up at the guest relations desk at DHS that afternoon instead.

Has anyone taken a cab (or other non rental car/own car transportation) from POFQ to offsite?
Was it worth it or would you recommend another way to go offsite?

Looking to stay at the resort for the Princess half marathon in 2012. Are you able to walk to HS and Epcot from this hotel? I have never stayed there and it looks lovely.
Thanks:goodvibes

You can check over on the transportation board for additional information about traveling off-site. There is a sticky at the top of the page.

It would be a rather long walk. POFQ is considered a Downtown Disney Area resort.

It is very lovely. We love it there!

My understanding is that pedestrians are not allowed along most of the roads on Disney property. There are no walkways to anywhere other than Riverside from POFQ. If you want to be able to walk to Epcot or DHS, you will have to stay in one of the Epcot resorts -- Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwarlk or Swan/Dolphin.

Thanks everyone for a quick reply. I didn't think you could, but sometimes the info gets confusing for me.
Looks like a nice resort and I think we will stay here for race weekend.:goodvibes

I just did my online check in, 10 more days and I'll be sitting at POFQ:cool1:
Have a great time! Tell Shelly at Mardi Grogs (the poolside bar) that Ron and Karen from PA said hello and thanks for the great bloody mary's :). It's such a wonderful resort and definitely our home away from home. Can't wait to go again, though I know it will be a couple of years.....:(

Isn't Shelly the greatest? We have such a good time hanging out at Mardi Grogs.

Tell her that Shelly the Rock's family in MN says hi too!

Room 6148. Wonderfully peaceful and quiet. Go around the building to the Rue d'Baga and follow it to the food court.

Thanks! Can't wait for romantic get-away with DH to see the lights!

Exactly! My first thought was duck poop. :rotfl2:

As long as the pool is filtered every hour - then no poop or other contaminants - plus chlorine at 7.5 level would be great.

The pool filter should run 24 hours a day, if possible.

Just back from a fabulous week at the French Quarter. I must say that the Hidden Mickey's that are incorporated into the design of the room was so much fun to find! (Don't Look Further if you don't want to know). The Bathroom Curtain - Bedspread - and window curtains. That's all I could find right off hand.

So, so , so hoping for a discount so that I can upgrade our two rooms to POFQ - my favorite resort!!!! Come on October discounts! I can smell the beignets....

I was wondering if any of you who have stayed at POFQ have been able to take advantage of the general public offers in the past? Or is POFQ typically excluded from FD and room discounts because it is so small and books up rather quickly?
