We stayed here in August 2010 and loved the resort...had no problem whatsoever with mousekeeping.

I am on bedrest so I will be updating my posts in the next day or two.

We absolutely loved POFQ. I have nothing bad to say at all. Our room was extremely clean. Very spacious, and met all my handicap needs. I have pictures. They area uploading now.

And to make a point with mousekeeping I changed over purses during the stay. One of my receipts must have dropped. The mousekeeper put it on the dresser with a little note hoping I wasn't missing it. I will update more later...

We also had a dresser with 3/4 drawers, flat screen TV, table and chairs, and a night stand.

Way more than enough room, extremely clean, very happy place to be.

I have more pictures and can answer any questions if needed. DH and I fell in love with this resort. It was a two minute walk to the food court and buses, we used the waterboat to DTD, and much more.

thanks for the pics, they look great. i'll be arriving really early during my stay in late march. i'll ask for a refurb, but i'm the type of person that will be fine w/ a first available, so i can start my day and not worry about waiting for a refurb room....but it won't hurt to ask...

First time to stay on site at Disney were at Riverside. We plan on using the BIG pools with our 4 year old so we want to be closer to the big pool. Would you request to be near the large pool or a refurbish. Maybe get both we are there only one night. 2011

Hey everyone!!! We will be at POFQ in exactly 30 days!!! I have a question about room requests and a late check in. I have a King Room and requested a river view, refurbished, first floor room when I booked with Disney member sevices. On check in day, we arrive at the airpot at 7PM, so probably won't get into the resot until 9PM. Will I get my requests, or will they be taken already??? I know requests are just "wishes", but I am worried with such a late check in that I won't get any of those. Should I call before we leave home and just confirm our requests??

My DH has a CPAP. Is there a spare power outlet close to the bedside table? Perhaps within 3 feet / 1 meter? I had a look at the pics and couldn't see one. I've been caught out and had to get extension leads a couple of times elsewhere in the past and I'm going to be prepared for this trip!

I assume there's a few designated smoking areas in the resort, correct? Does anyone happen to know where they're located at and if they're near to any of the rooms??

Both my mother & I are very sensitive to cigarette smoke (causes terrible headaches) and I'm pretty militant about keeping DD away from secondhand smoke.

I am considering doing a Split Stay between POP and POFQ. We are already booked at POP for 7 nights. I was thinking doing 4 nights at POP and then 3 nights at POFQ, I am already falling in love with POFQ as I read this thread...

should I do this?

Right behind the night table.....the alarm clock is plugged into it.

You might want to check out the Riverside thread, this is for its neighbor, the French Quarter. I have no idea when they are starting the refurbs at POR, but the main pool is pretty much in the middle of the resort. Off the top of my head, I can't recall room numbers but there are many bldgs near a quiet pool and also relatively close to the themed pool. French Quarter only has 1 pool and the resort is pretty compact.

I had a standard view the first two years, before I discovered the "pool view."

I was on the backside of Oak Manor, second floor, facing the wooded area. No one was even on that side all week; it was like I had the place to myself!

Does anyone know the location of the POFQ's park bus stops, relative to the other MOD resort's bus stops? I'm very curious!!

POFQ only has one stop at the main building. It is a very compact resort and only needs one stop.

Although now that I read your question, are you talking in relation to at the parks. They rotate a lot of the times and aren't always in the same location.

we are staying at POFQ for the first time at the end of March...

we have a question about the "store" at the resort... do they have milk, bread, the basics? any idea about the cost if they do?

thanks for your help!

They do! I've been in gift shops in value, moderate, and deluxe and they all have a small grocery area.

If you click on the link for portorleans.org and go to the bottom where it says 2010, you can click to see pics of milk, bread, etc. I don't know about prices. You'll pay more than running to Walmart or Publix but if you just need a few things, they have it!

My mom had to get cold medicine from the store at WL in Dec. We had always gotten breakfast items from the store but not medicine. Lesson learned on the medicine at least, we will either bring some with us or if we have a car..run to Walmart or Publix and buy some!
