First of all, you may be interested to know (I just got off with a CM) that the carriage ride offers a new feature if you want it (I didn't). While you are riding on the carriage you can suprise your GF/Spouse by having a glass slipper waiting on the side of the road. The driver stops, gives you the slipper and you put it on her. Just an FYI and I hadn't heard it posted here before.

I do have a couple of questions the CM couldn't answer (she gave me a different # to call but they closed at 6pm)

Where exactly is the starting point of the carriage ride?

I want to suprise my GF and act like we are just taking a walk. Than when we stroll past the carriage the driver says something like "Miss Dona, your carriage". So she knows I planned it. Also, I would like to get some wine from the resort and have it waiting for us.

Is it possible for me to bring a CD with our songs on it and play it while we ride? Do I need to bring a CD player as well?

Thanks in advance!

Wow, does this ever sound interesting. At first I thought you were saying one of the dessert slippers could be ordered. Can't wait to hear more.

I believe the carriage picks you up right behind the main building.
You can also include a bottle of chilled champagne in the ride.
I don't believe there is any electricity for a CD player, so if you have a portable, you may need to bring it.

How do I arrange for that to be at the carriage when we go? Isn't there a resort wine you can buy (thought I saw a post here about one that was very popular).

Wow, this could turn into a very romantic ride. ;)

I am really going for the big brownie points on this one. I also bought her a locket that has a picture of me and her in it that I am going to give to her during the ride. After this I will never have to lift the lid again! hehe :cool1:

This sounds great...iam interested in the glass slipper thing..:wizard: ...How would i organize that?...It would be fun for my dd7...we are doing the carriage ride next week after BBBoutique and CRT.:)

I don't know about any of the wines, but when you call to schedule the ride, you can ask about the champagne.

ZOOEY 72-

Wow! I thought romance was dead! You have one lucky GF! I should have my dh of 15 years read this!

Don't count on that, for too long. There is nothing worse than sitting on the porcelain in the wee hours of the morning to upset a woman. But I'd be interested to find out what you did for her bday. I asked for romance on mine and got told I was being ridiculous.

Do you have an Ipod and small detachable speakers? That would work as well. You could even use a discman/portable CD player with small detachable speakers. I've seen the small detachable speakers for about $5

First, I was kidding about the toilot thing. It's just so clique I thought it was funny :lmao:

Well, when we first got together we were taking a walk around where she lives and walked up this hill to an old cemetary that overlooked a creek and it was really nice. That is the place we were when I told her I loved her for the first time. Anyway, her b-day was coming up and we had agreed not to spend a lot of $ because of bills [(Disney being a big one coming up)our b-days are a week apart)].

What I did took a lot of preperation and there was some funny stuff that wasn't planned but here is what happened (for the most part). I had given her her present (don't know if you know what an aero garden is, I got her some replacements for that, that she wanted) and left for work.

an hour later there was a knock on the door and when she opened it there was a vase and a b-day bag on the porch with a note saying "Happy Birthday! Can you guess where I am?" She took the bag and the vase and started heading to our spot. At the fence leading up to the hill she found a rose, a note(telling her how much I love her), and an item (something from our past that she would recognize) and I was standing at the top of the hill waiting for her. As she walked closer to me she found a rose, a note, and another item (this happened 4 times). When she finaly reached me I took one hand from behind my back and gave her a rose, and with the other I gave her the last note. At the end of the note it said "flip me over" and I had written "But what I love most about you is that I know your heart, and right now I know you are crying".

I had cooked her one of her favorite things (something she had when we visited my family in Chicago) and we had a picnic there.
