Hi I'm thinking of spliting our trip and adding some days at a moderate. Port Orleans seems nice. It's hard to figure out from looking at web sites, and I can't can't do a search here etc.

Are the French Quarter and River Side connected so you could use out both pools? (not the quiet ones --LOL-- the slide ones) Or is it just the one you are staying?

TIA

Yes, you can use both pools with slides at POFQ and PORS. Just be sure to have your room card with you as they have sometimes checked ID's at POFQ when the pool is very busy. The 2 resorts are about a 15 minute walk from lobby to lobby.

We did this on our last trip - the pool at FQ is a lot of fun!

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to the best building to request at PORS. I haven't been able to get a good feel for the main pool area. Can you see the pool area from any of the buildings in the Alligator Bayou? Is it wise to try to stay closer to the main building just as a timesaver/convenience? Would we maybe be happier sticking closer to one of the smaller pools? Although I've looked at some rough maps, it is difficult to get a sense of it all.

Thanks

Laura

We also used both pools when we were there in October. We used the water taxi from PO-FQ to PO-R... took less than 5 minutes. The water taxi runs everyday from 9 am until 9:30 pm and runs every 15 minutes. We would be at the pool at PO-FQ, see the taxi coming, and make it down there to catch our ride with no problem at all!

Thanks! I will call tomorrow to make changes to our resie.

One more question, if this gets lost in here I'll repost it. Does PO have tubes for little lids like the AS resorts do?

Thanks agaia:D

We've stayed at POR 4x & always in the Magnolia Terrace "mansion". I think the location is great. There is a quiet pool there, it's a short walk to the main pool/playground, has a bus stop in back of the building, & it's a pleasant 5-minute stroll to the main building. Enjoy!

We need a trundle bed so we're definitely in the Alligator Bayou area. (from what I understand.) That's the area that seems a little confusing to me and a little out of the way. It's the main pool area that I can't really seem to identify on the maps. It all looks like one big fishing hole to me.

No tubes, but you can get the lifevests at the boat rental at PO-R, you pay a deposit and you hold on to the vest for the duration of your stay... when you turn in the lifevest, you get your deposit back.
