We are along a cruise from POM in October and I was just wondering if you have driven to the port do you park your car there or off hire it and rehire when you get back from the cruise? I contacted our tour operator and they said it was $20 a day to park so we are going to have an $80 bill for the four days, but if we off hire will it work out cheaper?

What do you think?

When we've doen 3-day cruises from Porta Canaveral in the past, we have just paid to park the rental car as it wasn't worth it to drop off/pick up the car and we wouldn't have saved that much by doing it that way. Whenever we have done a 7-day cruise, though, we always rent a car before and after so we don't have to worry abut parking at port. The trouble is, I'm not entirely sure where the nearest rental place to the port at Miami is. Is your cruise at the beginning/end of your holiday? If at the beginning, would it be possible/practical to get a taxi from the airport/your hotel to the port and just rent a car afterwards. I am assuming that most rental places would have some kind of shuttle to/from the port (like they do at PC) so it wouldn't necessarily be too difficult, just maybe not the most practical thing to do.

No our cruise is in the middle of our trip so we will need the car before and after, so I think we will have to just park the car and pay the fee.
Thanks Joh
