We are driving from WDW to Port of Miami at the end of March for our 5 night Dream cruise. Is it confusing or is everything well marked? How jammed up does traffic get near the port? We have an 11:30PAT so was thinking leaving 7am from WDW would get us there in time.

Thoughts? Advice? Anything to help our first time out of Port of Miami.

You can go the turnpike from WDW and connect into I-95 or just cut across from Orlando like you are heading to Port Canaveral and go I-95 all the way down to the port. You will connect to 395 where the port tunnel is. There’s a lot of traffic around that area because they are building a new overpass. If you have sun pass you can take the express lanes for an extra cost starting in the Ft. Lauderdale area almost all the way to the port exit. If you take the express lanes and are using Waze when you get to the golden glades area it gets weird and doesn’t know where it’s going and tell you take a right while on an elevated overpass. It take a bit for Waze to figure out you are going the right way. It’s not a hard drive just traffic can be crazy.

Thanks! We do have the Sun Pass but we don't use Waze as we use Apple Maps but we will definitely take this information!

Thank you so much!

Everything is well marked and it's not a hard drive. But the traffic can get bad as you get close to the port, which is pretty much right smack dab downtown.

There is nothing quite like departing on your cruise from Miami. Enjoy!
