Port day spa specials

I didn't pay attention last cruise since we were off ship while in port. Can anybody say if the specials are reasonable and worth it? TIA

Worth it is so hard to answer...i mean, it's almost impossible because the responses are so personalized. Its like asking whats the best color or whats the best song...

I'll say this, their prices even with the discounts are high. At the end they will try to sell you products (which is a HUGE turnoff for me). The last thing I want to deal with at the end of a massage or something is a sales pitch. Ive had better massages and Ive had worse (I cant speak for the other treatments).

If its just being pampered that you're looking for and have the money to burn, sure, go for it. But, in all my experiences and from everything I have heard "best massage ever" was never a thought or a sound I heard but it surely is priced like it should be.

That being said, Im one of the few who don't think the day pass to the rainforest room is worth it either.

When I fill out the forms before the massage, I write "no sales pitch' on it. Then they don't try to sell me anything.

This is just my experience, but I had a lovely facial and a horrendous swedish massage when I did my spa day on board. I was a sucker and did end up buying some facial products they used. But, I did, and do still like the products and have reordered when I've run out (heavens to betsy, not from DCL and not directly from Elemis! Found best pricing on either Amazon or QVC). So, if you want to know what they used on you, have them write it down and then see how you do skin-wise. I've had facials where I've reacted badly to what they've put on me. I've decided that I'll either go this route next time I decide to drop some $$ in the spa, or write on the form, "no sales pitch." Frankly, if the service is really good, I'd rather tip than buy products I'll never use!
