Port Canaveral Webcam

If you want to watch the storm here is the link to the webcam in Port Canaveral.
The storm is supposed to be really bad at 9:30am Friday.

My guess is it won't last long, the one in Nassau went out early this morning. Watching them this afternoon, the waves were starting to pick up on the port Everglades webcam, praying everyone stays safe down there.

Darn website! I can never get more than 5 seconds of video before a message comes up telling me that there's something not working (not the AdBlock thing, because I turned that off). I've tried 2 different browsers repeatedly.

port canaveral is now down. It was up until about 30 minutes ago, and then suddenly went offline. i assume they lost power.

A Today Show correspondent was located in Cocoa Beach this morning (they showed him around 7:30am)... He said the storm surge wasn't as bad as predicted in that area. I think that is great news for anyone parked at Port Canaveral.

Obviously, things could change, but that's a plus for the port right now.

Stay safe everyone.

No first hand experience because we evacuated inland from Cape Canaveral and will try to return later today to our place near the Port...
BUT a friend send me a video of A1A this morning and there is power in the area of the cruise hotels (Radisson, etc) and A1A is clear of serious debris. Cars are driving all the way down to Cocoa Beach with no problems.
We are very happy about this - we expected total devastation - and this is the best possible news. Sure, it appears plenty of damage at Fishlips and surrounding restaurants next to the water but hopefully it means things can return to some degree of normality rather soon near the Port!

We are very happy with the limited info we have at this time.

The webcam is down but the recap of fishlips is at the bottom right of the screen. I'm not even sure what I'm looking at, is that fire? Editing to add it looks like the webcam just went back up.

My partner said it definitely looked like fire at one point, by the time I was able to view the cam it was still glowing/smouldering. This was on the stairs leading down from the deck part when the webcam turns to the right.

Not long before the cam went down quite a bit of the roofing seemed intact still - you could see through the building but nowhere near as bad as now. Devastating...

I have been watching the webcam when its up since sunrise. Can anyone else make out what the public announcement is saying? I can make out "Attention Please.........Hurricane.......Thank you......." I have my speakers turned up as loud as possible but with the wind it makes it difficult to make out.

Also, in the past 30 minutes or so, it looks like the winds are picking up again. The eye must have passed off shore and it seems like the Port is getting the back side of the hurricane right now. It doesn't look good, that is for sure...:(

I can see that Fishlips deck tent torn up. Why in the world didn't they take that down beforehand? That's seems like an obvious point of preparation.

It looks bad but I think it looks worse than it probably is. That isn't a roof (obviously) blowing around just the awning for the covered seating areas. The trees seem to be holding up and the construction equipment nearby isn't overturned or anything. Still fishlips will have a huge cleanup ahead of them and they certainly will need all new awnings. Hopefully the supporting structure for them doesn't get too damaged and they will just need to replace the canvas.

Might be a permanent awning structure. Likely not the type of thing you can take down. Webcam seems to be down again.
