Port Canaveral Hotels & shuttle service?

Thinking of staying in a hotel at Port Canaveral the night before our cruise.

Which hotels are best?

Do the hotels provide shuttle service out to the ship?

I have asked this question several times and still dont know, lol. Please someone, help us out ! I would like to know if the Radisson Port has free shuttle svce to the port and, if so, is the shuttle bus really crowded? Would like suggestions....shuttle bus or taxi?

The Radisson is the only hotel which offers a complimentary shuttle service without purchase of a special package. It is a 15-passenger van, and reservations are required (available when you check in) because the van would otherwise fill up very quickly. Avis has a rental location at the Radisson and they also have a complimentary shuttle (also a 15-passenger van). The best way to do this is to rent a car from Avis to get to the Radisson from the Orlando airport. In the morning, take your luggage and your passengers to the cruise terminal. Then one person can take the car back, return it to Avis, and easily slip onto either the Radisson's van or Avis' van since one person with no luggage doesn't take up much room.

As for other hotels, a few of them offer cruise packages that include shuttle service, but you need to book that specific package. The two hotels that I know of are the Courtyard by Marriott and the Hampton Inn.

We stayed at the Radisson for our March trip and loved it..

Huge room ...one bedroom suite...great price

I just made reservations at the Hampton Inn in Port Canaveral for July 5. I needed 2 double beds to accomodate my kids and the Radisson couldn't guarantee me that. They had a room with a king and a sofa sleeper. The Hampton provides free shuttle service to the ship and I can park my car for free at the hotel.

I also just booked an Avis bound for Port Canaveral and staying at the Radisson. That's a great idea about dropping everyone off and then taking the shuttle. I think we'll do that.
