Port Canaveral Arrival question

Hi Everybody!

Can someone explain to me how Port Canaveral works for arrival? I’m going with my dad on the dream the 4th - 7th. We are both driving to the port separately. I’ve sailed post Covid but it was on the magic out of Miami.

When you arrive you verify you PAT, drop off your luggage and verify your vax status has been cleared, pay to park in the garage which is where the testing is done on level 1. You then go up and park and wait for your "clear to sail" message from Inspire (Safe Passage). Once get that message you go to the terminal, check in and then board. There are seats in the terminal where you can wait if you have different PAT's.

Thank you!

I thought I had read elsewhere that if you drive, you don't drop off bags until after you test and are "clear to sail". That way if bad news happens, Disney doesn't have to pull your bags.

I was on the 1/29 Fantasy and as Husker Mike said, we dropped off our rental car, shuttled to the port and we kept our luggage until cleared to sail. We simply walked across the street and dropped the luggage off as we entered the port.

I've seen this too, but it was a recommendation from a couple of people that had a positive test and then had to wait hours to get their bags back. I think the standard flow is to drop them off before parking but you can request to keep them with you and pass the porters on your way to parking.

I have a question - it says on the Disney Cruise website that you have to arrive on time at the parking garage for your pre-cruise COVID test. It says if you're early you'll be asked to come back, if you're late you may have to come back after other groups. My question - when you get your arrival time does it give you a window to arrive in? I would certainly hope you don't have to sit on the side of the road and try to time it to arrive exactly on time. haha

We just got off the Fantasy on Saturday and drove down. When you arrive they give you the option of keeping your luggage, but recommended that you drop it off before you get tested. We kept ours until we knew we were good to go just to be safe.
