Hi, We have a group of us going. 2/3 rooms have an early port arrival time, the other room cannot book until tomorrow because they have never sailed with Disney before. Our reservations are linked together. If they end up with a later port arrival time than us will they have to wait or can they come in with the rest of us?

Generally, yes. But DCL does request those groups with different port arrival times, who wish to board together, to board using the highest boarding number received. They will, most likely, be able to enter the terminal with you, but will probably receive a higher boarding number than the rest of the group (that's what happened to our group of 3 rooms), as boarding numbers are tied to the Port Arrival Time selected.

As with most "can I do XX instead of YY" questions on DCL, the CM collecting the boarding numbers will have the final say. Sometimes they will let groups all board together using the lower number within the group. Most times not.

Of course, this may be a moot point, if you are Concierge. Typically, Concierge guests do seem to be able to have their whole group board at the same time (even when not everyone is in Concierge).

You may be able to go together, depending on the CM at the entrance. Disney has said if two parties have different PAT times then they all should board at the later boarding time assigned, not the earlier time. But, sometimes this is overlooked or not noticed when boarding. Just don't expect it will happen, it is not at all guaranteed that you will be able to board together but may happen.

Disney ask that you board with the latest boarding #. Once they start boarding it goes very fast. Pleae don't try and board before you boarding # is called and block the entrance for those that are following the rules.

This comes from my personal experience on three different cruises, I think some people who responded to this thread have not personally experienced this process. We have always been permitted to board together with the other people in our linked reservations, but only with the latest boarding number. Although I have asked all three times, the group with the later PAT, has not been able to board with the earlier groups. So, if you wish to all board together you may, but I would guess it will be with the latest boarding number. Really the only reason to do that is if you all wanted to take a boarding picture together. Otherwise, it might be nice for the people who board first to find a nice lunch table, or stake out an area by the pool where the later arrivals can meet them.

ok that sounds like a good plan dcassetta! I appreciate your post. With a bunch of little kids i would prefer to board early and get them settled someplace instead of in the terminal. The rest of the Family can find us on board. We can get a photo one of the evenings before dinner :) Thanks!!
