My husband noticed this section in the advisory on the DCL page
"Fully vaccinated Guests who wish to disembark the ship while in a port of call can do so without the need to purchase a Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure. Guests who are vaccinated and wish to disembark the ship with unvaccinated children will need to purchase a Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure. "
Does anyone know if this is only for specific countries or ports of call? What about Castaway Cay?

From what I read on DCL’s site, it appears Port Adventures are required at all ports, except for Castaway. In the Castaway section, it did not mention a Port Adventure is required to get off the ship. Since passengers will only mainly interact with crew members, there is minimal risk from interacting with people not on the ship with possible COVID. The passengers on the current Dream/Fantasy cruise should be able to provide additional insight for sure 😁

Thanks! I usually think of Castaway as an extension of the ship, but wanted to check in case it was a requirement from the Bahamas. I can always rent floats or bikes if needed.

I have seen no reports of excursions being required for non-vaccinated people to exit the ship at Castaway Cay. As vrneuroh pointed out above, all guests and staff at Castaway Cay are involved with the ship, so Disney Cruise can require vaccinations and/or tests of them. Disney wants guests to go ashore and spent money at Castaway Cay -- they make money from excursions, but also from beverages and souvenirs.

In other ports, including Nassau and ports in Mexico, requiring non-vaccinated people to be on excursions rather than simply wandering around will reduce (but of course not eliminate) their changes of becoming ill from exposure to other people who are ill. As with all of the current restrictions, it's unclear how long this will last, but I'd guess it will apply to all port except Castaway Cay for at least the next few months.

This was my line of thinking as well, but wanted to see if anyone had experience or had already asked guest services before I called. We sail next week so just wanted to make sure we are all set! 🙂
