Port Adventures for my cruise seem a bit...boring

So I'm booked on the 5 night sailing from San Juan to Miami on the Magic for November 15-20. Our ports are Castaway Cay, Tortola and Basseterre.

I have never been to either island, but just by glancing at all the Disney offered port excursions...I'm not really excited by any of them. Am I wrong, are some of these excursions pretty great?

My only other Disney cruise was the Southern Caribbean with 4 stops (Bonaire, Aruba, Antigua and Castries St. Lucia). I had no problem eagerly picking out an excursion for each of those islands.

Well, first cruises are always more interesting. The longer you cruise, the more you realize that many port excursions are really quite similar from port to port.

We're on the cruise before you (NYC-San Juan). :-) We've been to Tortola 3x. We did an island tour by tram once, a beach day another time (both just got off the ship and found), and did the Baths another. We really enjoyed the Baths day. Not sure what Disney offers - we book independently. You may want to check outside of DCL for additional things to do. I wouldn't book anything for CC. Have not been to Basseterre so can't help other than to suggest looking outside of DCL.

If there are no mobility issues, I recommend taking a ferry to the Baths from Tortola. We did it on our own because my daughter was not old enough for the DCL excursion. Beautiful beaches and amazing sights.

My family did this cruise last fall! We didn't do any DCL Port Adventures, as we found our own private tours (with some help from recommendations I found on here!). We were beyond pleased, especially with our private snorkel tour in Tortola through Day Trips BVI. Captain Debs was just phenomenal to work with. We were a family of 5, and the cost to have a private boat was similar if not less per person than some of the Port Adventures offered. Debs was super helpful in working around our short stay (I think all aboard was something like 1:30 pm that day). We used Grey's Island Excursions on St. Kitts and enjoyed our day there too. I also looked into Greg's Safaris there, but opted to go with Grey's to get more beach time! (Both get good reviews)
