Port adventure longer than entire port stay?

I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for this, but I am scratching my head. As I'm researching port adventures, I see several for Grand Cayman that are 6.5 or 7 hours, but we are only in port from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Do some itineraries stop for longer in GC? (Our stop does seem exceptionally short, especially once you factor in the tenders. I don't know how anyone does an excursion more than 4-5 hours.)

If this is the standard port time for GC, then how do those long excursions work?

Yes, port times depend on tides. Certain times they may be able to stay longer and other times they may have less time. The ships also have to share port facilities with other ships. How high and low the tide are, and amount of time between high and low tide, vary. They are not consistent.

The 6-7 hours includes meeting on the ship.

And yes, some itineraries stop for longer than 6 hours. I’m doing the EBPC and we are in port from 8.30-3.30, so 7 hours total.
