I don't think you can go wrong with either resort. We have been to both and CBR is our favorite because of the theming.

We just came back from our stay at Port Orleans Riverside (Bayou section building 15) We thought the resort was very nice. Building 15 was fine too. Very quiet and close to everything. We checked out the "Manor" section also and those were nice too. We thought the pools at the Manor section were better than the pools at the Bayou areas. The pool at O'l man Island was nice.

You really can't go wrong with your choice between Riverside and French Quarter BUT with that said I thought we would like Riverside the best until we walked around the French Quarter and used their pool. You can use both pools if you stay at Port Orleans.
If we were to stay at Port Orleans again we would DEFINITELY choose the French Quarter. It's a little smaller and nicer in our opinion. Like I said I thought we would like the Riverside Bayou Section better but NO WAY. We would take the French Quarter hands down.

We have stayed at both also. We liked the seclusion of CBR as its just DH and I..the rooms were really nice (we had a corner one) and it had alot of space. CBR is pretty laid out but we always rent a car so it didnt bother us. We personally liked CBR better because of the theming also. I think POR has a better pool area for children but we never used the pool at CBR but I remember reading about it from others.

I think either way you go--you will enjoy the resort. Have a wonderful trip! ENJOY!

I've stayed at both resorts and you can't go wrong either way. A nice perk staying at one of the PO resorts is the boat ride to Downtown Disney. It's nice way to relax and wind down after a busy day.

I've stayed at both CBR and POR many times.

Where I stay is greatly influenced by the time of year I go. CBR is brightly colored. tropical, and beach-y which I love at any time of the year except summer. During a Florida summer, it's just too extreme for me. However, when I go to Florida during a cold snowy PA month, CBR is just what the doctor ordered.

So, during the hot summer months, I prefer the shade, weeping willows, and lazy sparkling Sassagoula of POR. And, if it's a really hot summer month, I'd opt for POR-FQ to minimize the walking. :D

:D We have stayed at both (see below) CBR 3 times and POR 2 times.

My suggestion would be CBR with pre teen children and POR with teens.

If staying at CBR we always stayed in the Jamaica 4500 section.

If staying in POR we preffered the Aligator Bayou section over tha Mansions. AG 14 to be exact.

But like the other posts say you can't go wrong with either one and we loved both.:D

We loved CBR!!! It was beautiful, tropical feeling, etc. We were in South Trinidad, and we didn't mind the walk to OPR at all, but didn't have kids at that time.

I haven't stayed at POR, but I looked at the pics on allearsnet, and the rooms just didn't appeal to me at all, I didn't like the colors, etc. Just a personal thing, but I don't think I'd want to stay there.
