We were on the March 3rd Fantasy sailing and did both. The Porg hunt...they give you a "map", it's on the back of a cardboard Porg which is adorable so we got extras to keep. The map gives you the general location where Porg damage has been sighted...not exact location, but it's a mystery where to look until you find the first one and then go aha, and go looking for more. My kids loved it, and it was quite the workout! Each new one you find you will get a letter to decode, all good fun. The lineup in the morning to get the cards was hilarious - it was litterally just get the card, they could have had them on a desk or something, lol.
The BB8 races were HILARIOUS!!! We were just going to watch, but arrived in time to sign up and my 10 year old was going to be the driver (arrive 15 mins early as the signoff cuts off then) There would have been 3 BB8's racing, remote controlled and about 2 feet tall, but in our case they were having technical difficulties so they said everyone would race individually and then the fastest time would win. That BB8 has a mind of its own!!! You had to race to the end of a track, turn around, and then return, they wouldn't let you just race backwards. It's the turn that got everyone to hilarious results, as the head keeps falling off - you had to have an assistant (aka Mom) run off to catch the head and put it back on. Of course, since we weren't running 3 at a time, they ran out of time so had the families that hadn't run yet come back later in the day at a special extra session they had set up just for us. It was awesome! I think on our cruise there were 2 full sessions of this, plus the extra session due to the technical snafus. They do explain how the remote control works to the drivers, and insist that they be 10 or over. It had pretty large crowds watching. Racing one alone was a challenge, but when they finally had all 3 running together, wow the crashing and interfering and which head is which, lol, good times!
