We are really looking forward to going to the POR (our first trip) in November and I wanted to ask if you think we will be comfortable. It will be me, my DH, my DS 7, DS 5, DS 3, and DD 1 (in crib). 6 of us total, but they don't count the baby. They said we will fit in a room with a trundle bed, but I'm worried how the crib will fit in there too. Anyone ever done this? We won't be spending too much time in the room.

Can the crib fit between the 2 beds? Is it just a pack-n-play? Will I need to bring sheets for it?
:rotfl:
Thanks!

We have done it twice. The first time we tried the pack n play but it took up too much room so after the first night our yougest shared with either dh and I or two of his sisters. It was doable and no one complained. (that is unusual for my family :rotfl2: )

It will be tight, but you will fit. It is a pack and play, not a regular crib.

It will be very tight, good luck getting to sleep..LOL. AS for the pack n play you can put it over in the area by the sinks, that is what we did with a Aero bed and that alot bigger than a pack n play.

Thanks everybody, I know it will be tight, but we won't spend too much time in there anyway. I am worried about sleep, but we have our hearts on the POR! Hopefully it will work out fine, I figure the kids are young enough right now anyway and this might be our only chance to stay at POR without getting 2 rooms.

Stayed there many times. Will it be doable? Yes. Will it be comfortable? probably not. With 3 active boys, it will be pretty crazy and hectic. You do realize you will be sharing a bathroom with 4 guys?? Good luck and please post back. I would love to hear how this works out for you.

We did it and it worked out just fine, kids were 9,7,5,2. Was a little cramped but not horrible. We put the pack and play in between the two beds, it also fit against the wall by the table and chairs, just move one chair out of the way. Enjoy your trip!! We loved POR!!

You'll have enough room, no problem. It will be crowded, but that's OK ... the kids will probably be exhausted every night anyway. I would take my own bedding for the playpen if you have it. We've had it the very odd time that they gave us stuff that actually fit ... usually they just gave us 2 big flat sheets.

Thank you all so much! I'm feeling much better about it now. People (including my DH) have told me that this is crazy, but I really wanted this! I'm so excited, too bad it is so far away!

We were never in the room long enough to get uncomfortable and had no trouble sleeping. Last year the kids were 15, 11, 8 and 2. Both years we stayed their the oldest slept on the trundle. I don't know which is worse sharing a bathroom with boys or girls. We had three dds so the mirror area was pretty packed most days. I think you will be fine. If we could stay their this year we would. But ds is too old now.

If it was me i'd do it... We are really looking forward to our trip there next week, i can't wait!!! Even if i had a 1 year old on top of the other kids (that are all the same ages as yours) i'd do it... i'd probably have the 1 year old in med with me and dh and skip the pack and play but my kids all co slept till they were 2. We also don't spend any time in the room except for sleeping at night we don't nap or go back to the room durring the day/afternoon... just plan out thoes bath and shower times well so you know who's needs a bath at night ect. :)

I was concerned about this too. We are going in June with four kids, 11dd, 8dd, 7dd, 1ds, and staying at POR. I keep thinking we will be cramped but then say to myself but how much are we actually going to be in the room. I am glad to hear others have done it without issues. thanks too

Ann

Wow - that will be tight.

If it was me, and I had a car with me, I'd find a nice place off-site and get two rooms, or consider renting a 3BR pool home nearby.
