POR vs AKL

Hi, I'm new to this board, and tis will be only my second trip to WDW, the first bieng in 1991. (We live in CA and go to Disneyland every year or two) My question is: We have a AAA rate at POR, and I just looked into the Savannah rooms at AKL, and with a AP, it's only $240 more. The AP adds another $180 to the ticket price, so for about $400 for 5 nights we can stay at the AKL savannah vs POR standard. Any advice? I'll be there with DH and DDs age 8 and 12.

If you can afford the $400.00, I would definitely go for AKL. Especially because this is your kids first trip and you have not been to WDW for 12 years. AKL is very impressive in comparison to POR.

Oh my! Yes AKL is worth it. POR is our favorite moderate and it is great value but AKL is a WONDEFUL resort. I wouldn't hesitiate. You'll have a wonderful time! Look at some photos here:

Just got back from POR. Loved it but will most definetly choose AKL over it in a heartbeat. AKL is my all time favorite.

$400.00 more with the savannah view
If you can afford it I'd say YES! We have stayed at both and love both but the AKL is our favorite. It's so beautiful.

AKL is a beautiful and unique resort with excellent transportation to the parks. If you can do it.. DO IT!

You won't regret it.
