POR two questions....

Is busing at POR really that bad and can anyone recommend a Pool view RR that they really love? Thanks!

Is busing the best of the moderates ...... no, I would say CSR is - but on same note I've never had a big issue with the buses at POR.

There are not that many RR rooms with pool view so I guess the only thing to request in online check in is floor.

I just got my room text and I've never stayed at POR before (my plane doesn't fly out til 7). It's building 85 Magnolia Bend Building, third floor. Hope this is a good location?

LOVE the mansion pools! We did not care for the AB pools at all.

As for the original post about buses... We have good & bad from almost every resort we've stayed at. In regard to the multiple stops... I would MUCH rather have multiple stops at the same resort, then 2 stops at 2 different resorts. At WL it drove me crazy that we'd leave there, and then have to bus to GF or FW for a second stop... Seemed to take so long with the traffic & the lights.

Yes me too! I don't find Deluxe has better bus transportation at all. I've stayed at all Deluxe and most Mod Resorts multiple times/days and POR had the best overall service of any of them. We are staying at FQ later this month and I'll finish out the group and compare. But I've done POR enough to know that FQ is going to be better, or the same. And we love the buses at POR. Don't have 1 complaint

How far of a walk is it to west from preferred rooms? We are reserving preferred for my dad b/c he can't walk long distances (gets winded and definitely can't run to make a bus!)
Is there a preferred room location we should request?

If you are staying preferred I'd try the south depot. It's the closest and I think a lot easier then if you go to west. We were in bld 25 so it was easy to get to west. I'd request bld 14, it's the closest preferred to the food court.

RR aren't in the preferred section. I would be happy with any mansion RR with a pool view. I LOVE the mansion section. I was not a fan of AB at all.

This. If you have a pool view RR, there are literally only a handful at POR that fit this criteria (and all are in really good locations, IMO, to the main building and to two different bus stops). When requesting a room, your biggest consideration would be what floor you want to be on. Touringplans.com has really good info on views at POR, so I'd suggest looking there.

My (extended) family stayed at POR last year. I had a RR river view, others in our party had RR pool views. We were put on the same floor (ground floor) in Oak Manor. We weren't next to each other, but close enough, and we *loved* our room location so much that I'd be hard not to book either pool view or river view RR next time we stay at POR. Regarding busses...I've stayed at deluxe (MK monorail loop or Epcot area) quite a few times before staying at POR and wasn't looking forward to using buses only. However, I had no issues with the bus service at POR. Yes, we had to make more stops at POR than I had to make at Poly, for example...but overall, there were plenty of buses, wait times were really reasonable (esp compared to some waits I've had at deluxe resorts). I'm a deluxe kind of person...yet POR is in my top three WDW resorts. I *really* really liked our RR, our location, dining, resort atmosphere, amenities, bus service, etc.
