I think I have this correct but can someone confirm the price for me? If I book a POR room for 5 I will be charged the rate (whatever good rate I can find) plus $15 for the trunde, plus $15 for an extra adult. My niece is 18 so she is the extra adult ($15) and my DD5 will sleep in the trundel ($15). So to the cost of the room I add $30 per night. Right? At some point I will be awfully close to paying the same for a POR room as 2 value rooms. DN can be booked into a value since she is 18 right? Thanks for helping, I might be over thinking this, cause now I have myself confused! :earseek:

Yes you will be charged for the trundle if it's apparant that you need it. By having 5 in your party it's probably a sure thing you will be charged. Yes also for the $15 extra adult in party. I would say go for the 2 value rooms. You'll get 2 bathrooms, plus your neice will have a little more privacy.

I have a questions about this too. We will have 3 adults and a four year old. Do all of the rooms automatically have trundles or do you ask for them?
I had planned on my son sleeping on the trundle but I can figure out something else cheaper for him than $15 per night for 9 nights.

Thanks! Sandra

Sandra, we (my 5yo and me) stayed at POR last month for 4 nights and my sister and my mother joined us for most of the nights. I'd requested a room in AB, which I got, and it had a trundle bed. I did use the trundle bed and was not charged extra for it, I guess because we chose to use it, we weren't forced to use it due to the room occupancy. Of course we could have been assigned a room in the Mansions without a trundle and I had a sleeping bag for him to use in that case (no way was I going to be kicked all night long by a very squirmy child!).

Thanks T&B! I had planned on booking Alligator Bayou on purpose because of the trundle beds. I didn't know they charged for them when they were already there automatically. Good grief! I don't think my SIL would appreciate me putting my son in the bed with her though! LOL. Sandra

As of January 1, Trundle beds are complimentary if you have 5 (with one under 9). With 4, you can request it for $15/night.

You do have one other option, and that's to buy an airmattress. We did this a few years ago when my BIL started travelling with me, DH and DD(now 10)
I think at Target, I paid around $25 for the air mattress, and $20 for the electric pump. I carry both as well as a twin set of sheets. There's usually an extra pillow and blanket in the room. We have gotten our monay back 10 times over by never renting rollaways or cots. And I have not found a room yet at WDW (or anywhere else for that matter) that I couldn't fit it in, including All Stars. It also came in handy the time I bid on priceline and got a room with just a king bed. DH, DD and I slept in the king and BIL got the mattress on the floor LOL!

Unless they have changed it on 1/1/05, in the past you would only be charged the $15 one time...even if you had an extra adult AND the need (or want) for the trundle bed. HTH!! :D

Last May, we were told that if we had three children, two adults, there would be a trundle charge, But since one of the 5 was a third adult, we were already paying for an extra person and there was no extra charge for the trundle.

Thanks much guys, although I am still not real clear! DH thinks he would like to try POR. When I call to reserve I'll let you know what they say! We will have 7 people in 2 rooms (4 A andDN 18, DS12, DD5) . I would like the trundle so that DD5 aka wild sleeper princess: could have her own bed. Thanks again!

We are a family of 5 and booked a couple months ago through a Disney travel agency and they charged us $15 more a night for the trundle. We have 3 girls 9,9,6,.If they are not charging anymore for the trundles,i will try and get my money back at check in.Going Feb.3-8.If the trundles are in the room already,we shouldn't have to pay to use it.

I believe WDWRC is correct. (Effective with this year's packages.) That is what I have been told too. I know MYW packages are like that. I can't speak for room only.

Just spoke with Disney and they are adding the trundle to the reservation and one of the twins will sleep on it and my daughter's boy friend can go. According to the CM no extra charge and 5 will fit in the room.

we were at POR last month, AB section, 2 adults, ds12, dd's6. We were not charged for the trundle. Maybe the confusion is with the cot that can be rented in rms that don't have trundles?

It's my understanding that you are NOT charged for a trundle but would be charged for a rollaway bed. You will be charged for the extra adult only.
